Inhabitr_Unlocking the Potential of On-Demand Furnished Living in Multifamily Buildings

Unlocking the Potential of On-Demand Furnished Living in Multifamily Buildings

Launching an on-demand furnished living platform in a multifamily building can offer several advantages and disadvantages. It is crucial to consider these when making an informed decision. In this blog, we explore the pros and cons of on-demand furnishing in multifamily buildings.

The pros:

Inhabitr_Pros of on-demand furnishing in multifamily buildings
  1. Growing Need for Furnished Housing in the US:

More and more people in the US are seeking furnished accommodations. Whether it’s for work, studies, or personal reasons, having a ready-to-go furnished space saves time and the hassle of moving or buying furniture temporarily. Major cities with strong job markets, educational institutions, and tourist attractions tend to have a higher demand for furnished housing. This demand provides an opportunity to leverage existing assets in a new way.

  1. Cities People are Migrating to for Employment:

The specific cities people are migrating to for employment can vary based on industry trends, economic factors, and regional opportunities. Places like Austin, Seattle, Denver, and Atlanta have been attracting talent with their growing industries and strong economies. Doing your research to see how your target market aligns with these trends can help you get higher occupancy rates.

  1. Premium Pricing for Furnished Apartments:

Furnished apartments can fetch a higher price compared to unfurnished ones. The premium can vary based on location, length of stay, furniture quality, and amenities offered. Generally, furnished apartments can command a premium ranging from 10% to 50% or more, depending on market conditions and demand-supply dynamics. Dive into market research to find out the potential premium for your area and adjust pricing accordingly.

  1. Enhanced Attractiveness to Tenants:

Offering furnished apartments can attract a broader range of tenants, including professionals, students, and individuals seeking temporary housing. The convenience and time-saving aspects of moving into a fully furnished unit can be a huge selling point.

  1. Competitive Edge:

Stand out from the competition by providing furnished apartments. It’s a unique offering that sets your property apart and caters to a specific niche, helping you attract and retain tenants in a competitive rental market.

Cons:

Inhabitr_Cons of on-demand furnishing in multifamily buildings
  1. Higher Initial Investment:

Starting a furnished living program requires some upfront investment to furnish the units. Furniture, appliances, electronics, and decor can add up, so proper budgeting and financial planning are a must to ensure a positive return on investment.

  1. Maintenance and Replacement Costs:

Furnished apartments may need more maintenance than unfurnished ones. Wear and tear on furniture, appliances, and other furnishings may necessitate repairs or replacements more frequently, adding to operational costs.

  1. Limited Flexibility:

Offering furnished apartments reduces flexibility for potential tenants who prefer to bring their own furniture or have specific preferences. Some individuals may already possess furniture or wish to personalize their living space, and the lack of flexibility can limit the appeal of the furnished living program.

  1. Management Complexity:

Managing a furnished living program can be more intricate than handling traditional unfurnished units. Coordinating furniture inventory, handling move-in and move-out logistics, and ensuring the ongoing maintenance of furnishings require efficient management and organization.

Institutional real estate owners, such as real estate investment trusts (REITs) or large property management companies, have recognized the potential in the furnished living market and have begun building or partnering with furnished living platforms. However, the extent of institutional owners’ involvement in this space may vary depending on the market and individual strategies.

Setting up an on-demand furnished living platform in a multifamily building is a promising venture, but make sure to consider the growing demand, potential premium pricing, and the complexities it brings. Also, weigh the initial investment and maintenance costs against the benefits it offers.

Inhabitr_Boosting Short Term Rental Profits

Boosting Your Short-Term Rental Profits: How Used Furniture Can Help

If you’re running a short-term rental, you know how important it is to keep your unit economics in check. The unit economics of a short-term rental unit can vary depending on various factors, such as location, property type, rental rates, occupancy rates, operating expenses, and management fees.

In this blog, we explore what to consider when evaluating your rental unit’s profitability and pricing, along with how you can use used furniture to your advantage.

The unit economics of a short-term rental

Inhabitr_Short term rental unit economics

These are some key elements to consider when evaluating the unit economics of a short-term rental unit:

  1. Rental Revenue: The primary source of income for a short-term rental unit is the rental revenue generated from guests. The rental rates, in turn, are affected by factors like seasonality, local demand, and property features. Analyzing historical rental data or market research to estimate the average rental revenue per night or per booking can help you figure out the most suitable approach.
  2. Occupancy Rate: The occupancy rate represents the percentage of time that the unit is occupied by guests. Higher occupancy rates generally lead to increased rental revenue. Seasonal fluctuations, market demand, and the property’s attractiveness can impact these.
  3. Variable Expenses: These are the expenses directly correlating with the number of bookings and guests the short-term rental gets. They may include cleaning fees, guest supplies, utilities (electricity, water, internet), consumables (toiletries, kitchen supplies), and commissions paid to booking platforms or property managers. It’s essential to estimate these costs accurately to understand their impact on unit economics.
  4. Fixed Expenses: These are the expenses incurred regardless of occupancy and typically include property taxes, insurance, mortgage or rental fees, property maintenance, repairs, and marketing costs. Consider these fixed expenses to determine the profitability of the short-term rental unit.
  5. Management Fees: If you engage a property management company to handle bookings, guest communication, check-ins, cleaning, and maintenance, they typically charge a management fee, which is a percentage of the rental revenue. This fee will impact the overall unit economics.
  6. Capital Investment: The upfront cost of acquiring or furnishing the property, as well as any ongoing capital investments required for maintenance or upgrades, need to be factored into the unit economics. These expenses affect the return on investment and the overall profitability of the short-term rental.

By considering these factors, analyzing historical data or market research, and conducting a thorough financial analysis, you can assess the unit economics of a short-term rental unit. It’s crucial to remember that these factors can vary significantly depending on the specific property and market conditions, so it’s important to evaluate each case individually.

How Used Furniture For Short-Term Rentals Helps You Increase Returns

Inhabitr_Used furniture for short term rentals

There are a few ways that utilizing used furniture can help you expand your returns on a short-term rental unit.

  • Cost savings: One of the biggest advantages of using used furniture is cost savings. Buying new furniture can be expensive, but you can find great deals on high-quality used furniture at consignment shops or online marketplaces. If you want a true turnkey experience with high-end furniture, you can also work with Inhabitr’s enterprise business team to help you source furniture for short-term rentals at an extremely reasonable cost. This can free up your budget to invest in other important aspects of your rental, such as marketing or property management.
  • Aesthetic appeal: Used furniture can add a touch of character and charm to your rental unit. This can make your unit more appealing to guests and help you charge higher rates. When choosing used furniture, look for pieces that are in good condition and that match the overall style of your rental unit.
  • Durability: Used furniture is often built to last. This means that you won’t have to replace it as often as new furniture, which can save you money in the long run. When choosing used furniture, look for pieces that are made from sturdy materials and that have been well-maintained.
  • Sustainability: Buying used furniture is a great way to be more sustainable. It reduces the amount of waste that goes into landfills and helps to conserve resources. If you’re looking for a way to reduce your environmental impact, using used furniture is a great option.

Of course, there are some nuances with using used furniture in a short-term rental unit. For example, because each piece may be variable in quantity, each unit will have a unique look and feel. This will add to the character of the units and allow your guests to feel right at home! Check out our b2b furniture offerings to learn more.

Inhabitr_How Plug-and-Play Offices Can Help You Creatively Lease Out Your Space

How Plug-and-Play Offices Can Help You Creatively Lease Out Your Space.

Plug-and-play office spaces are becoming increasingly popular for office landlords to attract small to medium-sized businesses. They offer a variety of benefits, including flexibility, cost savings, and convenience. If you’re considering setting up a plug-and-play office space, here’s what you need to know.

Property owners can benefit from leasing out their spaces to small businesses to help them grow within their spaces. By renting out spaces and turning them into workspaces with desks, chairs, and internet access, property owners or developers can get a decent source of revenue!

What are plug-and-play office spaces?

Inhabitr_What are plug and play office spaces

A plug-and-play office space is an office set up for businesses that are quickly growing and constantly evolving. This type of space provides a host of resources to get office businesses up and running without any additional set-up or installation required.

All the amenities of a fully functioning office are simply ready for use in this type of environment, hence the name – plug-and-play. By streamlining the onboarding process and taking out many of the worries inherent with starting or expanding a business, plug-and-play office spaces provide an ideal solution for companies looking for modern-day flexibility.

Benefits of plug-and-play office spaces

INhabitr_Benefits of plug and play office spaces

Having a plug-and-play office space is ideal for many businesses, as it provides both convenience and flexibility. Being able to set up shop quickly in an already furnished area can have a major positive impact on operations, especially for startups or shorter-term projects. Furthermore, since there’s no need to buy workplace furniture or go through the process of installation, costs are kept to a minimum.

On top of that, businesses can often utilize plug-and-play furnished office spaces in multiple locations, meaning they benefit from the ability to access different workspaces and take advantage of their features without making any commitments or going through lengthy contracts.

How to set up a plug-and-play office space

INhabitr_How to set up a plug and play office space

Setting up a plug-and-play office space doesn’t have to be difficult or time-consuming. All you need to do is determine the size of the workforce your space can support, and begin researching office space solutions online. Compare prices, amenities, and available services, then select the option that best fits your specific needs.

When you’ve decided on your resources, there are some simple steps to get your new office ready for work – organizing furniture to create an efficient layout in each room, selecting additional furniture and equipment such as desks and storage cabinets, stocking any kitchen or breakroom supplies needed for your business activities, installing electronics or hardware like PCs or printers when necessary, and setting up any necessary Wi-Fi networks or Internet connections. With those steps complete, you can expect a fully functioning workspace in no time!

Tips for making the most out of a plug-and-play office space

Inhabitr_Tips for making the most out of your plug and play office space

To make the most out of your office space by converting it to a plug-and-play office space, take advantage of all the opportunities for customization and comfort.

  1. Invest in ergonomic furniture

Ergonomic furniture is beneficial because it can help to improve employee productivity and boost their overall comfort. Make sure your office chairs and desks are comfortable for use, with adjustable heights and solid construction.

  1. Make sure the space is organized

To ensure your workspace looks neat and professional, organize furniture and decorations in a way that contributes to the type of work you do and the experience you want the employees to have. This will make it easier for employees to find what they need without having to search cluttered areas. Keep shelves, cabinets, and furniture in your plug-and-play office space to facilitate organization.

  1. Consider adding plants and artwork

Adding plants and artwork to your workspace can create a calming atmosphere while also providing visual stimulation. These decor items can bring life to a space organically and effectively, especially when coordinated with natural light sources and thoughtful paint colors.

  1. Make sure your space has all the necessary amenities

A plug-and-play office should have all the necessary amenities like Wi-Fi access, power outlets, telephone lines, and other services in place to ensure that the business can operate efficiently.

Inhabitr_Cost-Effective Ways to Keep Your Hotel’s Interior Design Up to Date

Cost-Effective Ways to Keep Your Hotel’s Interior Design Up to Date

From attracting guests with enticing pictures to creating a lasting impression over the course of their stay, the interior design of your hotel matters. With how quickly design trends evolve and the reality of wear-and-tear, updating your hotel’s furniture and design can be a daunting and costly undertaking. But it doesn’t have to be!

If your hotel’s interior design is in need of just a refresh, as opposed to an overhaul, there are several relatively simple and inexpensive ways to give it new life. Check out our tips on how to give your hotel a refresh that will be low-impact on your team, your guests, and your budget!

  1. A Little Color Goes a Long Way: Bring light and energy to your lobby with a fresh coat of paint
Inhabitr_A little color goes long way

First impressions stay with you and since the lobby is often the first thing your guests see, adding a fresh coat of paint to your lobby can bring a renewed sense of energy to the arrival experience.

Light, neutral colors can give a sense of calm and welcome, and make the space feel more open and inviting. While darker colors can deepen the mood and allure. Pick a color that aligns with your brand story and the intended experience you want your guest to have as they arrive.

  1. Make a Statement: Being selective with furniture replacements can help your lobby stand out.
Inhabitr_Make a statement

Is there a central area in the lobby that guests always gravitate towards? Is there a place where they often wait for a drink or their Uber? Is there a key art feature or Instagram moment? Identify a key area in your lobby and pick a statement piece of furniture that will make an impact.

Aligning the piece with your brand story will help tie all the design elements together. Are you welcoming and respite focused? Consider an oversized couch or cluster of lounge chairs. Are you more energetic and creative? Pick a piece that makes guests do a double-take or take a picture.

Investing in just one or two key pieces in the lobby can help to drive the guest experience and curate purposeful energy in the space.

  1. Design the Details: Update your guest rooms with small pieces
Inhabitr_Design the details

Is it time to give your guest rooms a fresh and modern look? Updating bedding, drapery, and artwork can be the ideal way to lighten up your hotel’s interior design. By selecting more contemporary and artful pieces, you can keep up with the ever-evolving trends while also providing guests with a stylish retreat.

Keep an eye out for textured fabrics and bold colors that will brighten up any room! Furniture for hotel rooms can be costly, and changing up the soft goods in your space will make a big difference. With the right upgrades to your guest rooms, you’ll create a space that guests will admire during their stay with you.

If you’re interested in making more impactful changes, you could bring in new small hospitality furniture items that’d change the look of your rooms, like accent chairs and headboards.

  1. Set the Mood: Use energy-efficient lighting to save budget and create an ambiance
Inhabitr_Set the mood

Installing energy-efficient lighting in your hotel is an important step towards improving its interior design and creating a comfortable, inviting atmosphere for guests. In addition to providing the desired ambiance within a room, energy-efficient lightbulbs can help with overall operational costs by reducing power usage.

With a wide variety of modern designs available, you can easily replace your outdated lighting fixtures with more stylish and efficient fixtures without breaking the bank. Changing the lighting of your space is a great way to switch up your ambiance.

For hotel owners looking to give their interior design a light refresh, these simple steps can help get you started. Don’t be afraid to be bold; a little artistry can go a long way! Professional interior designers or home remodeling services can also provide excellent advice on creating an inviting atmosphere that your guests are sure to enjoy.

Inhabitr_5 Interior Design Trends to Create Stand-out Student Housing

5 Interior Design Trends to Create Stand-out Student Housing

Numbering 8.6 million, student beds account for 12% of the total number of US rental units. In such a crowded market, how do you make your student housing option stand out?

Thoughtful, comfortable, and functional interior design can be a significant factor in establishing a unique personality and attracting students. Check out five student housing trends you can leverage today!

  1. Study spaces
Inhabitr_Study Spaces

Study spaces that are both functional and inspired can be a great way to create energy and add value for your student renters. Cool white light is the best LED light for studying and studies show the color blue creates a calming effect when you’re feeling stressed. Making smart design choices in student study areas can help improve their productivity and creativity!

Additionally, providing additional amenities like printers and coffee machines can ensure they have everything they need in one place for optimal focus!

  1. Comfortable group spaces
Inhabitr_Comfortable group spaces

A great way to add value to student housing interior design is by incorporating comfortable group spaces. An inviting and cozy atmosphere encourages students to congregate and socialize, which creates a sense of community and enlivened energy.

Soft seating areas like those found in a coffee shop or bar/lounge create a cozy space for people to bond over conversation and make memories that last. By including these elements, your student housing complex becomes not only a place for temporary living but one for creating lasting relationships as well. It helps the space be more dynamic and pleasant for occupants.

  1. A wellness center
Inhabitr_A Wellness Centre

To create an optimal student living space, it’s helpful to think about how wellness and relaxation impact a student’s experience. Investing in wellbeing oriented spaces such as areas to escape and have quiet time, meditate, or exercise are fantastic value adds.

Wellness spaces allow students to take a moment away from their everyday lives and focus on themselves. Not only do these areas offer invaluable mental rest and health benefits, but they also have the potential to increase appeal and ultimately contribute to higher occupancy rates.

  1. Modern and minimalistic designs
Inhabitr_Modern and Minimalist Design

Today’s students are looking for a modern and minimalistic design when shopping for student housing – clean lines, sleek furniture, muted colors, and mature yet aspirational designs are often preferred. They allow a blank slate for students to add their own touches of personality with decor and art.

  1. Smart service design

Finding that balance between providing student’s support and encouraging their autonomy is an art. By mapping out their typical journey through the complex, both as a prospective renter and a veteran of the building, can help identify the areas that team members or designed service moments should live to seamlessly integrate with their needs. It is important to make sure these areas are welcoming and strategically placed for maximum engagement.

By creating inviting study spaces, comfortable group hangouts, and wellness-centric areas, you can encourage students to spend more time on-site which will lead to better retention rates. These steps help you offer much more than just a room to live in. And by keeping the design modern and minimalistic – think clean lines and sleek furniture – you can give your space a high-end feel that adds value.

Inhabitr_Benefits of upgrading your multifamily common areas

Benefits of Upgrading Your Multifamily Common Areas

One of the most overlooked opportunities in multifamily communities is the lobby and common areas. A well-designed common area can contribute to a sense of community, help you stand out against other rental options, and even increase rental rate. From the furniture to the art, there are many ways to optimize the lobby and common areas in your apartment building to curate a sense of place and lead to happier renters.

Interior design trends, functionality needs, and renter experience are all places you can draw inspiration from when beginning an update to the design and program of the lobby and common spaces in your multi-family development.

As more people work from home, common spaces become even more important for midday work breaks to shake off Zoom fatigue. And when people aren’t going into an office they often seek community in their surroundings, making social gathering spaces and sense of community key decision factors when picking a place to live.

Furniture that is multi-purpose and versatile can help with day-to-night transitions and accommodate both small and large groups of people. A space can easily transform from a productive coworking collective to a football watch party.

Design trends can be hard to keep up with, especially when you consider the monetary investment in large-scale interior design updates. But with smart selections and using furniture rental partners, like Inhabitr, you can easily keep your common areas on trend and full of energy.

Reviving these spaces will help build an inviting atmosphere that encourages community and builds a palpable sense of energy that can influence renter behavior, help your multi-family development to stand out, and increase property value and rental rates.

Inhabitr_Common Area Furniture

Wanting to make some updates but not sure where to start? Here are three simple steps to making a big impact in your lobby and common areas:

  1. Furniture can be an easy first step in multifamily lobby and common area renovation. Choose pieces that are both comfortable and stylish. Consider adding couches and chairs, end tables and coffee tables, or even multi-functional pieces like ottomans that can double as extra seating when needed. With a careful selection of upholstery fabrics and colors, multifamily dwellings can be transformed into environments that reflect the unique character of their inhabitants
  1. Adorning your space with accents such as rugs and wall art can lend a splash of color to the room while simultaneously creating an inviting atmosphere.
  1. Upgrading lighting is another easy way to give multifamily lobbies and common spaces a fresh look. Replacing outdated light fixtures with brighter, more efficient ones can help make the space feel vibrant while also being beneficial for energy efficiency.

When you’re upgrading a lobby or common area it’s important to choose quality furniture pieces that will last for years to come. The right investment can make all the difference in creating an inviting space for residents to enjoy.

Inhabitr_Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment_ The Secret to Student Housing Design Success

Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment: The Secret to Student Housing Design Success

Designing for student housing is becoming increasingly important. With the high demand for student living, developers and property owners need to ensure that their properties are up to date with the latest student housing trends in design.

When it comes to student housing, the design of furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) can make all the difference. FF&E typically encompasses all movable or easily removed objects in a building and can be integral to creating a functional and comfortable space. Think furniture, lighting, appliances, artwork, all the small touches in a space that make it feel welcoming and full of personality.

These design touches can help create a home away from home for students living in off-campus housing or dorms while empowering their sense of independence. The right furniture, lighting, and appliances can make it easier to study, relax, and socialize with friends. By choosing pieces that reflect the style preferences of residents, their living spaces can feel like they represent their unique personalities.

In addition to providing an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere, thoughtful FF&E can make small spaces feel more open and liveable. Smart storage solutions like built-in closets and shelves can help make the most of the available space while giving students the space they need to feel comfortable and productive.

In addition to comfort, design in FF&E for student housing also contributes to energy efficiency. By selecting items such as smart lighting, efficient appliances, and insulation solutions, student housing providers can help reduce their energy costs while also helping to protect the environment.

Ultimately, FF&E for student housing plays a critical role in creating an enjoyable and safe living experience for students.

Student Housing Picture

The key to successful student housing design lies in the details. With thoughtful considerations for furniture, fixtures, and equipment, developers can create an attractive living space that meets both their goals and the needs of students. Inhabitr_Empty Office Spaces are Better Off Furnished_ Here's Why

Empty Office Spaces Are Better Off Furnished – Here’s Why

As the US office market experiences higher and higher vacancies, it makes sense for landlords of speculative office spaces to keep units furnished and set up. All factors considered, keeping office spaces empty can be costlier in the long run. The benefits of furnished office spaces arguably outweigh maintenance costs.

Don’t believe us? Check out why and how keeping empty office space furnished can be a good economic decision.

  • It makes a space more convenient and seamless to move into
Inhabitr_It makes a space more convenient to move into

Rather than having to invest in furniture, incoming tenants can walk into a space that is almost ready for them to use. This can save potential tenants time and money when moving in, as well as provide an appealing option that allows them to focus on other important aspects of their business.

Office units with pre-set-up workplace furniture are attractive to companies for several reasons, including convenience, increased flexibility, and lower maintenance costs. By keeping your speculative office unit furnished, you give your clients a useful resource available to use on short notice.

  • Furnished space is easier to visualize as functional
Inhabitr_Furnished Spaces are easier to visualize

Having an available office space pre-furnished gives potential tenants a better idea of what their office space could look like when set up. By seeing the furniture and other items in place, tenants can more easily visualize how the space will be used. This visualization may make it easier for them to decide if this is the right space for them–it’s much easier to imagine a functional layout when it’s already set up.

  • It helps you market your unit more effectively

By having the space fully furnished, landlords can create attractive marketing materials that show potential tenants what their office could look like when they move in. This is especially important for attracting out-of-town businesses who may not be able to visit the space in person.

  • It can increase the perceived credibility of the landlord

Keeping office space furnished can also create a more professional image for landlords. By having the space set up and ready to go, potential tenants will see they could get their unit quickly and efficiently. This may also help landlords increase rents or garner higher offers from tenants who are impressed with the professionalism of the space.

For all these reasons, it makes sense for landlords of available office spaces to keep their units furnished. This can save time and money for tenants when they move in, help them visualize how the space could be used, and make it easier to market the unit. In the long run, these benefits can outweigh the costs of keeping empty office space furnished. And when you partner with Inhabitr, it can help keep your costs down.

When it comes to student furniture rental, things have changed dramatically in recent years. The days of students wanting simple, easy-to-use furniture are gone. Today’s students expect more from their university housing, and that includes better furniture options along with impeccable after-sale services.

Furniture rental companies need to be aware of these changing student housing trends and adapt their services accordingly. In the past, most universities and students prioritized function over style. This was largely due to the fact that students were on a tight budget and didn’t have the means to splurge on luxury items. However, the needs of students and their preferences and expectations surrounding housing have evolved.

From style to service, see how rental furniture can help meet the needs of student housing.

  1. Students expect more furniture options
Inhabitr_Students expect more furniture options

Just a bed, study table, and a chair no longer do the job. Students have grown more sophisticated and come to expect more from their living accommodations. While affordability still remains a large factor, they want to be able to represent their style and personality in their rooms and aren’t willing to compromise on quality or comfort.

Furniture rental companies that offer a wide range of products and styles are able to meet both their personalized needs and their budgets. Accent chairs, lamps, and decor allow for personal style to shine through. While extra dressers or entertainment sets help their space adapt to their needs and preferences.

  1. Students seek quick and convenient customer services
Inhabitr_Students seek quick customer service

The students entering college are of the generation that has always had access to the internet, technology, and the instant gratification of the two. In the past, students may have overlooked or avoided furniture rental companies because they felt that the process was too complicated and time-consuming. However, the expectation of students today is quick and convenient customer service and technologically integrated processes that meet their needs with the click of a button.

Furniture rental companies with streamlined processes, accessible support, integrated platforms, and easy-to-use customer interfaces will help connect these tech-savvy students with furniture and save money for universities.

  1. Flexible payment options are expected
Inhabitr_Flexible payment options are expected

With the popularity of programs like Affirm and AfterPay, students today are always on the lookout for flexible payment options. Students that cannot afford to pay the entire amount upfront or would prefer to distribute the cost over a longer period of time, should have the option to do so.

Furniture rental companies need to be aware of the fact that students often have a limited budget and they should offer flexible leases and payment options accordingly. This will help students get the furniture they need without having to break the bank.

  1. Style trends and spatial awareness matter
Inhabitr_Style trends and spatial awareness matter

Interior design buzzwords like ergonomic, feng shui, and open concept are prevalent in today’s culture, even for students. After experiencing COVID, they are even more aware of the importance of space, room set-up, and the impacts of color and furniture in a room.

Furniture rental companies that offer design services can help curate a space that meets their needs. Whether that is guiding them in piece selection or lay out, they can help them make the best use of their space and create their ideal living environment.

The bottom line

By staying up-to-date with student needs and housing trends, furniture rental companies can position themselves to support the students and the universities and create a better overall experience for both.

Inhabitr_why it's an ideal time to renovate your hotel

Why it’s the Ideal Time to Renovate your Hotel, And How Inhabitr Can Help

As expected, hotel occupancy and revenue are still recovering from the impacts of COVID-19. U.S. hotel leisure travel revenue is in 2022 projected to end 14% above 2019 levels, but business travel revenue is expected to come within only 1% of 2019 levels, according to a new analysis released by AHLA and Kalibri Labs. These revenue projections also vary based on market and are not adjusted for inflation, but align with the overall slow recovery of the hotel industry.

The good news is that the percentages are climbing. As travel resumes, people are venturing out for their long overdue vacations and businesses are eager to gather their teams in person once again.

The hotel industry is perfectly positioned to take advantage of this slow, yet increasing growth by using this time to take a look at their brand and culture, operational strategies, and undergo renovations. This will put them in the best position to capture travelers as they reemerge and are considering where to stay on their upcoming trips.

Though a larger upfront expense, the lasting impacts of renovations are invaluable to the overall guest experience.

  1. Renovations Make Your Hotel More Customer Friendly
Inhabitr_Renovations make your hotel more customer friendly

The first step in any hotel renovation is to update furniture and create an inviting atmosphere that aligns with the vision and intended experience at the hotel. Quality, brand-aligned furniture can make or break the guest experience and helps not only attract customers but positively impact guest reviews and repeat visits. Investing in durable, stylish furniture from suppliers like Inhabitr can be one of the most important steps in creating a great experience for your guests.

  1. Renovations Help You Improve Health and Safety Standards
Inhabitr_Renovations help you improve safety standards

Renovations can also help ensure health and safety protocols are being followed. By installing touchless technology, such as automatic doors, you can reduce contact between staff members and guests. Additionally, replacing carpets with hard surfaces makes it easier to clean and sanitize common areas more frequently.

  1. Renovations Can Create Efficiencies and Improvements in your Customer Service
Inhabitr_Renovations can improve your customer service

Hotel renovations are also essential for improving customer service standards. By making sure staff members have access to upgraded tools, such as digital check-in systems and text-based messaging, efficient customer service delivery becomes much easier. This helps reduce wait times for guests while still providing them with an excellent level of service.

  1. Renovations Can Help Set You Apart From Your Competition
Inhabitr_Renovations can help you stand out from competition

Using a renovation to take a more bold or brand-aligned stance on design can help to tell your story and ultimately differentiate you from your competitors. From new furniture to art on the walls, the entire interior design can tell your brand story and bring to life a unique and engaging experience for your guests.

  1. Renovations Can Have Lasting Financial Benefits
Inhabitr_Renovations can have lasting financial benefits

In addition to providing a great experience for customers during this time of uncertainty, hotel renovations are also beneficial economically speaking. A renovated hotel typically has a higher occupancy rate than one that hasn’t been updated in years; this means increased revenue for the owners over time.

All in all, investing in renovations now as the industry begins to slowly reemerge from COVID-19 is essential if you want your hotel to stand out among its competitors while providing customers with an unforgettable stay. It may seem like a daunting task at first but there’s no doubt that it will be worth it when you see customers come back again and again due to their positive experiences at your newly renovated hotel!

Here at Inhabitr, we understand how important it is for hotels to give their guests a comfortable and safe environment, which is why our hotel furniture service is designed with both of these qualities in mind. Our selection offers everything from beds to chairs, to sofas that are both modern and inviting.

Inhabitr takes the hassle out of hotel renovation. With our range of stylish hotel furniture for sale and rent, you’ll be able to quickly find the perfect pieces to create an inviting environment that customers will love.

So if you’re looking to give your hotel a facelift, Inhabitr is here to help. With our wide selection of furniture and commitment to quality, we can make sure that your hotel renovation will be a success!

Inhabitr_Renting Furniture The Smart Move in an Inflationary Economy

Renting Furniture: The Smart Move in an Inflationary Economy

It’s no secret that the economy is in a state of flux. Prices are rising, and we’re met with a lot of uncertainty about what’s to come. The 3rd Quarter (Q3 of FY22) ended with an inflation rate of 8.2% which is exponentially higher than the 3.2% average (source).

As current leases end and you find yourself moving to find a better rent price, you can save on your living expenses by renting furniture instead of buying it outright. The cost of rent is undoubtedly rising in the current economy but the same shouldn’t be said for your furniture and fixtures.

Here are some reasons why rental furniture is a smart move in an inflationary economy:

  1. Rent furniture at a fraction of the cost:
Inhabitr_Rent furniture at a fraction of the cost

Renting furniture is a great way to get furniture at a fraction of the cost. When you buy furniture, you have to pay the full price upfront. However, when you rent furniture, you only have to pay a rental fee which is far less than the full price of the item.

  1. Rent furniture and avoid paying inflated prices:
Inhabitr_Rent furniture and avoid paying inflated prices

When inflation hits, prices on goods and services increase. This is because the cost of living goes up, and businesses have to raise their prices to keep up with the rising costs. When you rent furniture, you don’t have to worry about paying inflated prices.

You can simply return the furniture at the end of your rental period and get new furniture when the prices have gone down. This way, you can avoid paying inflated prices and stay on budget.

  1. Avoid overhead cost of maintenance and delivery:
Inhabitr_Avoid overhead cost of maintenance and delivery

Another advantage of rental furniture is that you don’t have to worry about the overhead costs of maintaining and delivering the furniture. When you buy furniture, you have to pay for the cost of delivery and installation whereas rental partners, like Inhabitr, will deliver it to your doorstep and set it up for you.

When you purchase furniture, you are also responsible for the cost of repairs and maintenance. But when you rent furniture, these costs are included in your rental agreement. Another cost saved!

  1. Enjoy flexible rental terms:
Inhabitr_Enjoy flexible rental terms

Rental furniture offers you the flexibility to rent furniture for as long as you need it. Whether you need it for a short-term event or a long-term stay, rental furniture can be a great option. You can simply return the furniture when you don’t need it anymore. This means working with your current budget, lease terms, style fluctuations, and housing needs.

  1. Helps to accumulate savings for contingencies:
Inhabitr_Helps to accumulate savings for contingencies

There are already numerous monthly costs for housing. Rent, utilities, wifi, and more. Renting furniture helps you better plan your finances and allocate your resources efficiently. The money saved on renting instead of buying furniture can be used to ensure your monthly costs are covered, start a savings fund, or buy those tickets for the trip you’ve been wanting to take. No matter what you do with that money, you’ll see great savings overtime as you rent, or rent to own, instead of buying outright.

Inhabitr_How to create a social space in your workplace

Creating a Social Space in Your Workplace: Benefits & How to Do It

When it comes to office design, many people think of the practical aspects only: where will the desk go, how big should the meeting room be? But what about creating a social space – a place where employees can relax and socialize away from their workstations?

A social space can help improve communication and collaboration among team members, and can even boost morale. In this blog post, we’ll explore the benefits of social spaces and offer some tips on how to create one in your office.

Creating A Social Workplace

Inhabitr_Social Workplace Design

What is a social space in the office?

A social space is a place where employees can relax and socialize. It can be a room, a dedicated corner with soft seating or even a bench table. Another term for a social space is a breakout area, or ‘a third space’ – a middle ground between work and home where one can carry out a job function as well as meet and interact with other like-minded people.

It gives teammates an opportunity to socialize without having to leave the office for a cafe or another public place. It can help to build relationships and trust.

What are the advantages of having a social space in the office?

There are many advantages to having a social space in the office. One of the most obvious is that it encourages socialization and communication among employees. This can lead to improved teamwork and collaboration on projects.

It can also boost morale as employees feel they have a dedicated space to unwind and relax during their break times. This can lead to improved concentration and productivity when they return to their workstations.

Another advantage of social spaces is that they can help create a more positive company culture. By encouraging employees to engage in a social workplace environment, you’re fostering an environment of inclusivity and respect. This can lead to improved employee retention as staff feels valued and happy in their workplace.

How can you create a social space in your office, even if you don’t have a lot of space to work with?

If you don’t have a lot of space to work with, you can still create a social space in your office. One way to do this is by using furniture to create a dedicated area for socializing. For example, you could use a sofa or armchairs to create a relaxed seating area where employees can take their breaks.

Once you’ve decided on the atmosphere, you can start to choose the furniture and accessories. For a relaxed space, you might want to consider items like sofas and armchairs, coffee tables, and side tables. For a more formal social space, you could opt for items like dining tables and chairs.

How can you make sure that your social space is used to its full potential by employees?

Once you’ve created your social workplace, you need to make sure that employees are using it to its full potential. One way to do this is by promoting the social space through company communications.

Let employees know that the space exists and encourage them to use it during their break times. You can also organize social events in the space to further encourage socialization.

Inhabitr_What Makes the Perfect Accent Chair

What Makes The Perfect Accent Chair

A small accent chair can be the centerpiece of a living room furniture set, or it can be a clumsy addition that sticks out like a sore thumb. And with the vast variety of styles, colors, and sizes, how do you make sure your accent chair is working for you, not against you?

From color choice to functionality, there are a few things that you should consider when picking an accent chair to ensure it ties your space together.

  1. The perfect accent chair fulfills a purpose
Inhabitr_The Perfect Accent Chair Fulfils Its Purpose

Understanding the function of your accent chair will help you create a starting point for evaluating style, color, and size. Do you want a comfortable chair to cozy up with a book, or is it a purely decorative piece? Does the color need to easily hide stains left behind by children or pets, or is durability less of a priority?

Inhabitr Tip: For dining uses, avoid materials that stain easily and try out a more upright back.

  1. It fits your room just right
Inhabitr_It fits the room just right

Spatial awareness can help you assess the size of your accent chair. A cluttered living room can look untidy and cramped. Even a small accent chair takes up quite some space in a room, especially when occupied. What’s the footprint in the room that you have for the chair without causing clutter or a tripping hazard?

You also want your chair to complement the rest of your living room furniture in height. If the chair is too tall or too short in comparison to the rest of the seating, it can throw off the balance of the room.

The perfect accent chair takes just the right amount of space. To get the right accent chair, get a sense of the dimensions you want to be filled, both horizontally and vertically, and try to roughly stick to them while picking your piece.

Inhabitr Tip: Consider the height of the wall art as well when looking at size. You wouldn’t want to obstruct the view of important pieces of art or wall features.

  1. The perfect accent chair fits the overall look of a space
Inhabitr_Compliments the space

While an ‘accent,’ the chair should still align with the style of the room. Your style can be eclectic and mixed, and you can work intuitively with what you’re drawn to, but overall you should keep in mind that the chair should not feel out of place. Whether traditional, boho, contemporary, or modern, start by categorizing the overall space aesthetic.

Inhabitr Tip: Take a look at the legs of other furniture pieces as a hint to what style and what finishes your accent chair could feature.

  1. It fits your overall color scheme
Inhabitr_It fits the overall color scheme

Consider the color palette of the current room. You could even create a moodboard to compare accent chair colors against. Your accent chair should fit into the overall color scheme. Take a current color and find a similar hue to have an accent chair that blends in. Pick a complementary color to pick one that stands out. As long as the chair contributes to a sense of cohesion, it’s perfect.

Inhabitr Tip: If you’re in the mood for a pattern, do the same exercise to ensure the colors in the pattern are either working with or complementing the room’s color scheme.

Take your time picking and get a good look at the options available to you. At Inhabitr, we have a diverse range of accent chairs that you can browse and pick from.

Do you often get stuck picking furniture pieces? You could consider renting furniture. If you rent something like an accent chair, you get to experiment a lot more with your style by swapping options as frequently as you’d like. What’s more, a furniture rental like Inhabitr provides extremely convenient delivery and assembly, along with great quality, affordable furniture, which makes getting just what you want a lot easier.

You can even rent entire living room furniture rental sets here! They’re curated by our designers to fit together nicely, and can make the furnishing process a lot easier.

Inhabitr_Furnishing your pied-a-terre tips

Getting Pied-A-Terre Furniture: Our Tips For Your Urban Getaway

A Pied-A-Terre is the perfect place to escape for a weekend in the city! The French phrase translates to “a foot on the ground” and describes a small apartment serving as an urban getaway.

You picked this location and this space to tap into who you are, reflect your personal style, and be a retreat that feels like home. Stylish, comfortable, luxurious, and polished, getting the right pied-a-terre furniture makes it a place worth escaping to.

Here are our pied-a-terre ideas to inspire your perfect escape:

  1. Be intentional about your approach
Inhabitr_Be intentional about your approach

Put thought into what you like. Do you like classy glass or metal accents? Do you resonate with a boho-chic palette or clean,  modern woods and stones? How much furniture do you want in your space? Where is the light and when is it best? Being intentional about your overall design style or color palette will help you create a cohesive look that reflects your personality.

Inhabitr Tip: Use Pinterest to begin to capture these preferences through inspirational imagery.

  1. Get furniture pieces with functionality in mind
Inhabitr_Get furniture with functionality in mind

Do you intend to host friends often? Consider an entertainment center or stylish dining table to create beautiful memories over shared meals. Do you use your pied-a-terre to find focused time for work? An ergonomic desk or naturally-lit reading nook are sure to inspire your next novel or funding pitch. Get furniture pieces that correspond to your intent.

Inhabitr Tip: You might only have space for a select number of pieces, so approaching your furniture selection process through the lens of how you want to use the space will help you make the best decisions for the best outcome.

  1. Get multipurpose furniture
Inhabitr_Get multipurpose furniture

Multipurpose furniture can be incredibly useful in moderately sized spaces. The perfect sofa for a pied-a-terre is one that easily converts into a bed to add extra space for added guests.

Ottomans, benches, and stools that provide both storage and seating can allow the space to feel less cluttered. Multifunctional pieces allow you to get the most from your furniture while reflecting your style.

Inhabitr Tip: Pick furniture that is low to the ground and shows a little leg. When light and the eye can see between, above, and through furniture it creates the illusion of more space.

  1. Storage pieces will help you more than you think
Inhabitr_Storage furniture will help you more than you think

We’re talking wall-mounted shelves, cabinets, console tables, and dressers. Furniture that helps you with storage and organization can help you keep your space clutter-free and neat.

Inhabitr Tip: Go vertical with your storage! Using wall space and accenting with decor pieces to bring style while opening floor space.

  1. Go small, but go bold
Inhabitr_Go small but go bold

Being economical with how you use your space doesn’t mean that you need to be minimalist, sparse, or dull. In fact, with just a few cleverly-placed luxury furniture pieces, you could have a gorgeous setup in no time.

Inhabitr Tip: Don’t shy from vibrantly colored pieces or from materials like glass or metal. As long as you have a cohesive idea of the look you want, you can choose to be brazen about your choices.

  1. Consider renting furniture
Inhabitr_Consider renting furniture

We at Inhabitr believe in living life flexibly. Rental furniture is a useful solution when you have a space you’ll be using only temporarily or when you want to try out a few different pieces and styles.

As a result, hoteliers are constantly looking for ways to improve their properties and make them stand out from the competition. A key way to differentiate in the market is with high-quality, stylish furniture.

When furnishing a hotel, one of the main decisions hoteliers face is whether to buy or rent furniture. Both options have their own advantages and disadvantages, but when it comes to the overall economic benefit, renting furniture is the clear winner.

Inhabitr_Economic Advantage

The most obvious reason why hotels choose to rent furniture is because it is more economical than buying. When you rent furniture, you are only responsible for the monthly rental fee. You don’t have to worry about the initial cost of purchasing the furniture or the ongoing costs of maintenance and repairs.

However, if a furniture item fits perfectly in your hotel, you can use the rent-to-buy option.

  1. Flexibility

Inhabitr_How To Pick The Best Storage Furniture For Your Bedroom

How To Pick The Best Storage Furniture For Your Bedroom

A messy room can be highly stress-inducing: clutter all around you can make it difficult to think and move around. Optimizing your bedroom’s storage space can improve your quality of life! In this blog, we have tips and guidelines for optimizing your bedroom’s storage furniture. Read ahead!

A cluttered room doesn’t just look messy and off-putting, it can also potentially stifle your ability to think with too much going on. If you think visually and are affected by your environment, the visual stimulation caused by clutter might affect how productive you want to be or how clearly you can think your way through solutions.

If you like organization or if you want to be more intentional about the way your space looks and feels, you’d benefit from extra storage space in your bedroom. Read on for storage furniture tips!

How To Pick Storage Furniture For Bedroom

  1. Get a bed with storage
Inhabitr_Get a bed with storage

The bed’s likely the biggest piece of furniture in your room. Especially if you’re working with a small space or if you want to optimize your bedroom’s organization, use the space under your bed! A bed with storage will likely go a long way in helping you stash away large items that you don’t use too often.

  1. Get a fair amount of closed storage space
Inhabitr_Get a fair amount of closed storage space

Wardrobes, cabinets, dressers, chests, and nightstands will all have closed storage space. Their smooth exterior and sleek lines will help you reduce visual stimulation and clutter in your room.

If you love organization, you’d probably have a great sense of what to put where when you get the pieces of furniture. It might also feel good to have your important items at arm’s reach in your bedroom whenever you need them! Small storage cabinets can be especially cute with decor pieces on top of them.

Measure your room and the pieces you want before buying them since you’d want breathing space in there. If you’re working with a small space or if you want a calm design, we’d also advise you to get lighter colors in your furniture.

  1. Get shelves for vertical storage
Inhabitr_Get shelves with vertical storage

Optimizing vertical storage is a great way to design a small space! You could get a sturdy bookshelf or wall-mounted shelf for books, knickknacks, everyday items, and decor.

We’d advise you to pick your shelves with functionality in mind. Think, what would you like to have access to all the time in your line of vision? What would you like to display? Visualize your space and how you’d use it, and make your furniture choices accordingly.

  1. Keep an eye out for multipurpose furniture
Inhabitr_Keep an eye out for multipurpose furniture

Multi-purpose furniture is excellent for making the best use of space. A bench might help combine storage with sitting space, or a shelf with both open and closed storage might provide varying storage solutions at once.

Remember that your furniture just helps you create the base for the space you want. Pick with your personality and overall vibe in mind!

You might also want to consider Inhabitr’s bedroom furniture rental options! With a wide range of beds, mattresses, nightstands, lamps, and more to choose from, we try to create spaces that move you with innovative furniture solutions.

Inhabitr_Small Business Office Design Ideas to Inspire Your Workspace

Small Business Office Design Ideas to Inspire Your Workspace

If you are like most small business owners, you are always looking for ways to improve your workspace. Maybe you need to find a way to make more room in your office, or maybe you are just looking for some inspiration when it comes to decorating. In either case, this blog post is for you!

We have put together a list of small corporate office design ideas that will help get your creative juices flowing. From sleek and modern designs to cozy and charming spaces, we have something for everyone! So read on and get inspired!

  1. Keep it Simple
Inhabitr_Keep it simple

One of the best things you can do for low-budget small office interior design is to keep things simple. That doesn’t mean that your space has to be boring, but you don’t want it to be too cluttered or busy either. A few well-chosen pieces of furniture and some carefully selected decor can go a long way in creating a stylish and inviting office space.

Here are a few tips for keeping things simple:

  • Choose furniture that serves multiple purposes. For example, an ottoman can double as both a coffee table and extra seating.
  • Edit your decor. You don’t need to have a million knick-knacks on your shelves. A few carefully selected pieces will be more impactful.
  • Use neutral colors. This doesn’t mean that your space has to be all white, but a subdued color palette will help to create a calming and serene atmosphere.
  1. Try to create a flexible workspace
Inhabitr_Try to keep a flexible workspace

Another great way to maximize your small business office space is to create a flexible workspace. One way to do this is to have furniture and decor that can be easily moved around or reconfigured depending on your needs.

For example, if you often have meetings in your office, you might want to invest in a few folding chairs that can be stored away when not in use. Or if you have a lot of paperwork, you might want to get a rolling cart that can be moved from one side of the room to the other as needed.

Some other ideas for creating a flexible workspace include:

  • Using shelves instead of cabinets. This way, you can easily access everything you need without having to search through a bunch of drawers.
  • Hanging things on the walls. This frees up floor space and makes it easy to switch things around when you need to.
  • Not labeling areas of your office. Keeping conversation nooks informally recognized would help employees use them as it suits them best.
  1. Incorporate fresh design
Inhabitr_Incorporate fresh design

Your professional space would probably benefit from a fresher take on design. Maybe try a rustic decor style: wood elements with clean lines. The goal is to achieve a look that’s both timeless and trendy. Consider adding some of these design details to your small business office:

-Exposed brick or wood beams

-Sleek metal furniture

-Glass partitions

-Modern lighting fixtures

-Abstract art prints

-Indoor plants

Adding these touches carefully and creatively would beautify your workspace without adding garish or overwhelming elements.

  1. Have a minimalist approach
Inhabitr_Have a minimalist approach

Achieving a minimalist office design is easier than it looks. And it doesn’t have to be all white either. The key is to choose a small number of furniture and decor pieces that are both stylish and functional. When editing your office space, ask yourself if each item serves a purpose or if it can be removed without impacting the overall design.

Here are a few tips for achieving a minimalist small office design:

  • Avoid clutter by choosing storage solutions that fit your needs. For example, instead of having a bunch of filing cabinets, you might want to get a rolling cart that can be used as both storage and a mobile work surface.
  • Look for furniture and utilities with clean, sleek designs and light colors. These will take up less visual space.
  1. Design with employee satisfaction in mind
Inhabitr_Design with employee satisfaction in mind

Your office design should be about more than just how the space looks. It should also be about how your employees feel when they’re in the office. After all, they’re the ones who have to spend the majority of their time there!

Here are a few things to keep in mind when designing your small business office with employee satisfaction in mind:

  • Create a space that’s conducive to productivity. This means having plenty of natural light, comfortable furniture, and adequate storage.
  • Incorporate elements that promote creativity and collaboration. For example, you might want a few conversation nooks or an open work area where employees can brainstorm ideas.
  • Make sure the space is comfortable. This includes things like temperature control, good ventilation, and ergonomic furniture. Ergonomic furniture has several benefits and would make your employees’ work life better.
  • Arrange for amenities: a coffee machine would, for example, be super functional and pleasant, and a white board might help with ideation and organization. If there’s something that your work requires often, actively making space for it would be very convenient in the long run!

We hope these small business low-budget office design ideas have inspired you to create a workspace you love! Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be yours. So have fun with it and make it your own!

If you’re figuring out how to furnish your workspace, renting furniture might be a great idea! It would help you save on inventory costs in the short term and it’d help you get stylish, more comfortable furniture without spending too much at one go. A furniture rental company like Inhabitr would also take care of delivery, assembly, and pick up, providing a convenient and flexible furniture solution!

Inhabitr_student hacks for living in a small space

Student Hacks For Living In a Small Space

If you’re like most college students, you probably don’t have a lot of space to work within your dorm or apartment. But just because you don’t have a lot of square footage doesn’t mean you can’t make the most of the space you do have. With a little creativity and some smart furniture choices, you can turn your small space into comfortable living quarters that feel like home. Keep reading for some great hacks for living in a small space!

  1. Get a Loft Bed
Inhabitr_Get a loft bed

One of the best ways to save space in a small room is to get a loft bed. By lifting your bed, you get to use all the space beneath it. Whether you need extra storage, a desk for late night study sessions, or a couch and mini-fridge for hanging out, a loft bed can give you extra space for what’s important to you.

Inhabitr Tip: Measure more than the width!

When picking out your loft bed, consider the space needed above the bed, to avoid any head bumps, and below the bed so you have enough headroom to comfortably walk around beneath it.

  1. Invest in Multi-Purpose Furniture
Inhabitr_Invest in multipurpose furniture

Another great way to save space in a small room is to invest in multi-purpose furniture. Look for pieces that can serve more than one purpose like futons that double as couches and beds or ottomans with built-in storage.

Ottomans are a great example of multi-purpose furniture. A foot rest, a coffee table, extra seating when guests come over, and a fun way to showcase your style. Ottomans come in a variety of sizes, shapes, colors, and materials making it easy to find one that fits your space and style.

Another great investment can be a foldable dining table – ideal for small spaces because you can easily fold it up and store it away when you’re not using it. This way, you’ll have more room to move around when you need it.

Inhabitr Tip: Less pieces means more money saved!

Not only will multi-purpose furniture save you space, but it will also save you money since you won’t have to buy as many separate pieces.

  1. Think vertically
Inhabitr_Think Vertically

One of the best ways to make the most of a small space is to think outside the box when it comes to storage. Instead of taking up valuable floor space with dressers and bookcases, try using wall-mounted shelves and hanging organizers instead. That way, you can keep your belongings off the floor and open up valuable floor space in the process.

Inhabitr Tip: Get a step ladder!

Extend your reach with a foldable step ladder, converting tops of existing cabinets and fridges to space that is usable.

  1. Use light colors and mirrors
Inhabitr_Use light colors and mirrors

Creating the illusion of more space is all about creating a sense of openness and movement. You can create this through use of light colors and mirrors. Paint the walls in colors like white or cream, and add mirrors to reflect light and create the illusion of more space.

Inhabitr Tip: Streamline your Furniture

Streamlined furniture allows light and air to flow not just over but also under and around it.

  1. Get rid of clutter
Inhabitr_Get rid of clutter

One of the key student room organization tips is to get rid of any unnecessary clutter. Go through your belongings and donate or sell anything that you don’t need or love, especially large space-consuming objects. Less is definitely more when you’re living in a small space!

Inhabitr Tip: Choose What Sparks Joy!

Having a hard time deciding what to keep? Try the KonMari Method

Don’t let a small living space cramp your style! With these hacks, you can turn even the tiniest dorm room into a comfortable and welcoming home away from home.

These are just a few ideas to get you started—but remember, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to making the most of your small space. The key is to get creative and think outside the box so that you can find what works best for you and your individual needs!

So go out and enjoy your college experience while knowing that you’ve got this whole tiny living situation figured out!

Inhabitr_Add Color To Your Life: How To Enliven Your Decor With Color

Add Color To Your Life: How To Enliven Your Decor With Color

How you decorate your space speaks volumes about who you are and what you love. While there are many ways to add personality to your décor, using color is one of the simplest and most effective methods.

Decorating with bold colors, for instance, might stray away from classic neutral designs, but it could add vibrant style, sophistication, and personality to your space.

In this blog post, we will explore how to decorate with bright colors and use color in interesting and eye-catching ways. From paint colors to furniture choices, we have got you covered! Here is room color design made simple. So get ready to add a little bit of life (and color) to your home décor!

  1. Paint the walls
Inhabitr_Paint the walls

One way to add color to your home is with paint. When choosing a paint color, it is important to consider the feeling you want to create in the space. For example, light colors can make a room feel airy and open, while dark colors can add a sense of sophistication and drama.

Paint your space mindfully, since the placement of color can enlarge or compress a space. At the same time, think of the mood you want and the overall color palette you might want and go ahead accordingly. The world is your oyster.

  1. Have a mix of neutral and colorful furniture
Inhabitr_Have a mix of neutral and non neutral colors

Placing large neutral-colored furniture pieces with a few vibrant accents could create an artful and sophisticated space.

In this case, the couch could be creamy white, with a bright teal accent chair. Or a light grey bed would compliment a pink nightstand gorgeously. Such arrangements would make space for you to place smatterings of golden, blue, and pink while retaining a grounded look.

  1. Be cohesive about your approach
Inhabitr_Be cohesive about your approach

Stand back and look at the bigger picture. It might help you not place garishly clashing colors in the same room. Before acquiring an object, think of how it’d fit into your space. Having colors that clash could make your space look cluttered and messy. The key to modern colorful interior design is having a balanced approach.

In the same way, having too many colder hues like blue and purple could make the space look stylish but somewhat uninviting. Warmth, on the other hand, can be added by using tints of orange, red, or yellow. But use them carefully, as too much could lead to an overwhelming space that feels like an assault on the senses!

  1. Lighting can transform your space
Inhabitr_lighting can transform your space

Lighting is another important aspect to consider when using color in your home. The way light hits certain colors can change the entire feel of a space.

For example, if you have a painting with various shades of blue, hanging it near a window will cause the light to hit it differently than if it were hung in a darker corner of the room. The same goes for other colors as well!

Also, assess the kind of lights you have. You could place colorful bulbs into your table lamp or install a dramatic chandelier to change your ambiance with the click of a button.

  1. Get plants
Inhabitr_Get plants

Not only do plants add a splash of color, but they also purify the air and make any space feel more alive. If you have trouble keeping plants alive, consider getting some artificial ones that look just as good! No one will be able to tell the difference, and you’ll get to enjoy the beauty.

  1. Don’t shy away from hanging artwork
Inhabitr_Place artwork

Hanging artwork is a great way to add color and personality to your space. If you’re not sure where to start, consider using one large piece or a series of smaller ones. You can also get creative with how you hang them!

For example, you could create a gallery wall using different-sized frames in coordinating colors. Or you could be hanging a few pieces at different heights to add visual interest.

There are endless possibilities when it comes to using color in your home décor, so don’t be afraid to get creative! These are just a few ideas to get you started. We hope you found this blog post helpful and that you feel inspired to start. As you experiment with color in your home, the most important thing is to have fun and let your personality shine through!

What do students look for in accommodation? Here are the top 5 things to keep in mind.

  1. A comfortable bed
Inhabitr_A comfortable bed

A comfortable bed is one of the most important things students should look for in a furnished apartment. After a long day of classes and extracurricular activities, students need a place to relax and unwind. A comfortable bed will help students get the rest they need so they can be ready for the next day.

Higher-quality memory foam and spring hybrid mattresses have been valuable assets to students who are looking for a more “at home” sleep experience. Headboards also add functionality and comfort – Inhabitr offers beds with headboards while a lot of students don’t have those in their rooms as of now.

  1. Studying space
Inhabitr_Studying space

It’s no secret that students need their own space. They’re also really good at focusing when they have something important on hand! A furnished apartment with a study corner can provide students with the perfect space to get work done.

The essential item for this space would be a wide desk, followed by an ergonomically designed chair.

  1. A functional kitchen
Inhabitr_A functional kitchen

With cooking at home, students can save money and eat healthier than if they were going out all the time. A functioning kitchen in an apartment complex is perfect for saving on food costs while still being able to enjoy delicious meals with friends or family!

  1. A couch:
Inhabitr_A couch

A place to relax and watch TV or entertain friends is important to many students. A couch in the living room is a common piece of furniture in furnished apartments. It makes your house look more complete and comfortable. Having a sofa bed or a pull-out couch is an added bonus for hosting.

  1. Amenities
Inhabitr_Amenities

Here is a list of some basic amenities students look for in furnished apartments :

– Number one on the list is Wi-Fi. Rather than an amenity, high-speed wi-fi has become a utility and necessity to students. They need to be able to reliably connect to the internet with a fast, stable connection for their schoolwork and research.

-The second thing on the list is common study areas. Students are in school to learn, and when they aren’t in the classroom taking in a lecture, they find themselves preparing for the next lesson or test. Common study areas can be found in most purpose-built student housing, and in recent years, their importance has grown. Students need spaces where they can invite classmates, work on group projects, or study as a team outside of their apartment unit.

-The third thing students look for is a gym. With busy schedules, it can be hard to find time to go to the gym. Having a gym in their apartment complex means that students can work out whenever they have time.

So there you have it, the top five things that students look for in a furnished apartment. If you’re a student who is looking for an affordable place to live, keep these things in mind when you’re searching for an apartment. Furnished apartments can be a great option for students who want to save time and money.

Inhabitr_Mid Century Modern Furniture Guide

Inhabitr’s Mid-Century Modern Furniture Guide

Mid-Century Modern Style furniture has undeniable charm. It’s defined by several factors: the style gives us clean lines, gentle organic curves, and a passion for different materials and shapes. This blog post highlights features of mid-century modern furniture!

There is a distinct timelessness associated with the clean lines, gentle corners and a love for a variety of materials which make this popular design in architecture an enduring topic for contemporary designers. In the world of design and décor, style patterns are cyclical. So it’s not surprising that in the first half of the 21st century, the mid-century Modern style is being majorly revived.

The mid-century modern interior design has a fresh vibe with a retro feel. Aesthetic design and comfort and functionality make it timeless and still in style. In mid-century modern interior design, there’s a seamless flow from the inside to the outside with sliding doors, patios, skylights, etc.

Key Features Of Mid-Century Modern Furniture:

  1. Metal & Wood Finishes
Inhabitr_Metal and Wood finishes

The balance between naturalism and industrialism is an essential aspect of the mid-century modern home; make sure you incorporate a range of furniture that is beautifully finished with metal, wood or even glass.

  1. Small Living Room Furniture
Inhabitr_Small Living Room Furniture

Given that much of the aesthetic centres around functionality, it is vital that you don’t clutter your space with too many unnecessary things. Of course, you can decorate your walls with artwork and photographs, but make sure you curate your collection carefully so that everything corresponds to your overall theme.

Also, your living space should be easy to navigate; this means investing in smaller sofas, streamlined stools and chairs and intelligent storage solutions.

  1. Lighting
Inhabitr_Lighting

There are a few options you can go for when choosing lights for your mid-century home; you can choose a large statement piece with an industrial edge to highlight the futuristic style that was popular in the 60s; if you would prefer something more subtle, just focus on curved lines and a minimalist shape, like a large, simplistic floor lamp.

  1. Accessories
Inhabitr_Accessories

In particular, don’t have an abundance of accessories, since they can create clutter. The style focuses more on the bigger pieces of furniture over smaller, cheaper knick-knacks. There are instead minimal simple vintage accessories in particular places such as the coffee table. It depends on the project but the plants and the biophilia in the space give more character and charisma to the ambience.

The mid-century look is all about functionality and comfort while at the same time giving a class-apart look.

We at Inhabitr have a wide variety of furniture available. Check out our living room furniture sets or our bedroom furniture sets! You might find what you’re looking for. You can also provide charging stations for devices, as well as a TV with streaming capabilities.

If you want to really wow your guests, consider adding a virtual reality system or an in-room tablet. These additions will help your hotel stand out from the competition and keep guests coming back for more.

One of the simplest additions we suggest is our Medici Sofa. It comes with an in-built USB port so that your charging station is always under arm’s reach.

  1. Monochromatic color schemes
Inhabitr_Monochromatic color schemes

While bright and bold colors can be fun, they can also be overwhelming. If you want to create a more calming atmosphere in your hotel rooms, consider using a monochromatic color scheme. This means sticking to one main color, with different shades of that color throughout the room.

Monochromatic schemes are not only soothing, but they also have a timeless quality that will never go out of style. Plus, they’re easy to achieve with our wide selection of hotel furniture!

  1. Pay attention to the upholstery
Inhabitr_Pay attention to upholstery

The upholstery of your hotel furniture says a lot about your style. If you want to create a luxurious feel, opt for velvet or leather. For a more casual atmosphere, consider using denim or linen. And if you want to make a statement, go for bold patterns and prints!

  1. Try and incorporate seasonal touches
Inhabitr_incorporate seasonal touches

Seasonal touches are a great way to add interest to your hotel rooms. In the spring, you can use floral patterns and pastel colors. For summer, try stripes or nautical themes. Fall is all about cozy textures and rich jewel tones. And winter can be festive with holiday-themed decorations!

Simple décor items can add a lot of personality to your hotel rooms and lobby. Try and switch these out every few months to keep things fresh.

  1. Don’t forget the details
Inhabitr_Dont forget details

When it comes to hotel design ideas, it’s all in the details. From the doorknobs to the light fixtures, every element should reflect your style. When choosing hardware, opt for metals that match your color scheme. And be sure to add plenty of finishing touches, like throw pillows and blankets.

These tips also apply if you’ve started your own small Airbnb business. Whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been in the business for years, it’s always important to stay up-to-date on the latest hotel design trends.

By following these simple tips, you can make sure your hotel is always ahead of the curve! Plus, for an Airbnb, you can rent furniture to try out what suits your space the best without making a huge investment. You can find good quality, stylish furniture for rent at Inhabitr. Airbnb Essential Furniture Checklist: What Your Airbnb Needs

You have a beautiful property in the ideal location for an Airbnb. Great! Airbnbs are becoming increasingly popular and for good reason. They offer travelers a unique experience, and often at a fraction of the cost of a hotel room.

With that being said, It’s important to keep a few things in mind when it comes to turning your property into a bed and breakfast – don’t ignore the furniture! Quality Airbnb furniture can go a long way in ensuring good reviews and referrals.

Yes, many Airbnb hosts overlook the need to provide high-quality furnishings for their guests. Many people believe that since it is only a brief visit, any old sofa or bed will do. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth! After a long day of sightseeing in your city, your visitors will appreciate being able to relax on comfy and fashionable furniture. Furthermore, providing high-quality furnishings on your Airbnb may help you make more money. Airbnb postings with high-quality furniture sell for greater prices than those without!

When you’re thinking about furnishing your home for Airbnb, there are a few essential pieces of furniture that you’ll need. In this blog post, we’ll outline an Airbnb furnishings list that will make your guests feel comfortable and right at home. This post will walk you through what furniture you’ll need, what characteristics to look for in your pieces, and where you can get low-cost yet attractive items.

So, what are the essential and best furniture for Airbnbs? Here is a list of our top picks:

  1. Get them a comfy bed: This should be at the top of your list! After traveling around your city all day, most guests are likely to be weary, so provide them with a cozy resting place for the night. Make sure your bed is comfortable and inviting, with plenty of pillows and linens.
  1. Add in a Sofa: This is another crucial item to include in your Airbnb suite. A comfy sofa allows visitors to unwind and relax. When buying a sofa, look for one that is both fashionable and functional. Sofas with delicate materials or light colors are likely to show dirt readily, so avoid them. Instead, choose a darker-colored sofa constructed of durable cloth such as leather or denim.

  1. Make space for a Dining Table: No Airbnb is complete without a dining area! Even if your rental is on the small side, you can still make room for a compact table and chairs. This will give visitors a place to enjoy their food and also provides an extra surface for them to use as a workstation.

  1. Bring in some storage: Airbnb guests often have lots of luggage, so make sure you provide them with enough storage space. Armoires and trunks are ideal for storing clothes and other belongings. If you have the extra space, adding a dresser is also a good idea.

  1. Include an Entertainment Center: Most Airbnb visits include a night of watching TV or a film after a long day of sightseeing. Provide your visitors with an entertainment center with a television and DVD player. If you have the money for it, consider investing in a surround sound system to fully immerse them in your experience.

inhabitr_8 Office Furniture Layout Ideas to Improve Workplace Vibe

8 Office Furniture Ideas to Improve Workplace Vibe

When it comes to office furniture layout, many people are at a loss. What is the best way to arrange desks and cubicles in order to maximize productivity? How can you maintain a healthy work environment? And what type of office furniture is needed?

In this blog post, we will answer all of those questions and more! We will discuss the importance of ergonomics when it comes to office furniture layout and offer tips on how to create an effective workspace.

Plus, we will provide suggestions for affordable office furniture that you can purchase/rent online. So read on for all the information you need to create a productive and healthy workspace!

Why is office layout important?

Your office layout can have a big impact on your productivity. An effective workspace is one that is well-organized and designed with your specific needs in mind. When you have a comfortable and functional space, you are more likely to be productive.

You can also have an enchanting impact on your customers/clients by virtue of a well-designed, warm and welcoming layout.

  1. Bring in ergonomic office chairs
Inhabitr_Bring in ergonomic office chairs

One of the most important aspects of office furniture layout is ergonomics. Ergonomically designed furniture is meant to reduce strain on your body and promote comfort and productivity. When choosing office chairs, for example, look for ones with adjustable heights and lumbar support.

  1. Adjustable desks
Inhabitr_Adjustable desks

An employee’s desk must have someplace to sit and work, but it also needs to be adjustable so that they can control their own environment. By allowing your employees to adjust their desks, you give them the power to create a workspace that is comfortable for them. This not only leads to increased productivity but also decreases the chances of repetitive strain injuries.

The desk must have some space for the employee to put personal belongings such as photographs of loved ones, books, and other objects that make the desk feel like home.

  1. Add versatile, multi-purpose, and stylish furniture
Inhabitr_Add versatile, multi-purpose, and stylish furniture

Gone are the days when all an office needed was a desk and a chair. A modern office should also have furniture pieces like couches, coffee tables, ottomans, and attractive filing cabinets.

Couches are great for offices because they provide a place for employees to take breaks or have informal meetings. Coffee tables can create a relaxed atmosphere in the office, and filing cabinets are essential for storing important documents.

When choosing furniture for your office, it is important to find pieces that are both stylish and functional. Remember, your office furniture says a lot about your company, so make sure it reflects the image you want to project!

  1. Lighting is key
Inhabitr_Lighting is key

Another important aspect of office furniture layout is lighting. The right lighting can help improve productivity and create a more pleasant work environment. When choosing light fixtures for your office, look for a layout that allows a mix of natural and artificial light.

Natural light is essential for your employees’ health and well-being, but you will also need to supplement it with artificial light. Make sure to avoid fluorescent lighting, which can be harsh and unflattering. Instead, opt for fixtures that emit soft, diffused light.

  1. Choose your color palette wisely
INhabitr_Choose your color palette wisely

When it comes to office furniture layout, don’t forget about the power of color. The colors you choose for your office can have a big impact on the overall atmosphere of the space. Calming colors like blue and green are great for offices because they promote concentration and focus.

If you want to create a more energizing environment, try using brighter colors like yellow or orange. And if you want to make a statement with your office furniture, consider using bold accent colors. Just be sure to use them sparingly so as not to overwhelm the space.

  1. Segregate the space department-wise
Inhabitr_Segregate the space department-wise

Depending on the type of business you run, you may want to consider segregating your office space department-wise. This will help create a more organized and efficient workplace. If you have a sales team, for example, you may want to put them in a separate area from the customer service department.

Or if you have an accounting department, you may want to give them their own space so that they can concentrate on their work. By segregating the space in your office, you can help improve communication and collaboration between departments.

  1. Create a welcoming reception area
Inhabitr_Create a welcoming reception area

The first impression your clients and customers have of your company will be formed as soon as they step into your office. That’s why it’s important to create a reception area that is both stylish and welcoming.

Your reception area should be furnished with comfortable seating, attractive end tables, and a coffee table. You may also want to consider adding some greenery or a water feature to the space. These elements will help create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

  1. Rent your office furniture
Inhabitr_Rent office furniture

Stylish hotel guest rooms could make your business far more appealing to customers, resulting in better reviews and more returning customers and referrals. Setting up a stylish and comfortable hotel room doesn’t have to break the bank, though: if you want to be careful about expenses in your hospitality business, you could use creative design solutions to style your rooms with minimal expenses.

This blog highlights ten tips to style a hotel guest room on a budget!

Budget-friendly hotel room design tips

Use these tips to create stylish, budget-friendly hotel guest rooms that will make your business far more appealing to customers:

  1. Invest in a good quality bed and bedding
Inhabitr_invest in good bedding

This is one area where you don’t want to skimp on quality, as a comfortable bed is essential for a good night’s sleep. A comfortable bed could make a world of a difference in how your customers perceive the room.  Look for a bed that’s the right size for the room and make sure to invest in good quality sheets, blankets, and pillows.

Look for sales and clearance items when shopping for bedding and linens. Material that feels better would long-term benefit you more than cheap synthetic material.

  1. Get Multipurpose furniture
inhabitr_get multipurpose furniture

Choose furniture that can serve multiple purposes. For example, a bench at the end of the bed can be used for both seating and storage. Ottomans with built-in storage are also a great option. This would help free up space and give the room a more spacious feel.

  1. Use wall art to add personality
inhabitr_use wall art to add personality

Adding some wall art is an easy way to add personality to a room. You could either DIY some artwork or find affordable pieces online or at local stores. Look for pieces that complement the room’s color scheme.

A pleasant art piece with vibrant accent colors could add dimension, spice, and style to any room with ease.

  1. Use a bright and airy color palette
Inhabitr_use a bright and airy color palette

Using light and airy color palettes would make the room feel more spacious and luxurious. Stick to neutral colors like white, beige, or gray, and add in some accent colors through wall art or accessories. The color palette you pick would depend on the kind of vibe you want your guest rooms to have, but thoughtful design choices could help you design with less hassle.

  1. Bring in natural elements
inhabitr_bring in natural elements

Adding natural elements like plants or flowers could help make the room feel more inviting. Not only do they look good, but plants also help purify the air.

If you don’t have a green thumb, there are plenty of low-maintenance options available. Faux plants or flowers are also a great option and could be just as stylish.

  1. Add some texture
inhabitr_add some texture

Adding texture to a room can help make it feel cozier and more inviting. You could add a rug, throw blanket, or pillows in different textures to the room. Knitted or crochet blankets are also a great option and can add some personality to the room.

  1. Use lighting to create an ambiance
inhabitr_use llighting to create the right ambiance

Lighting is key in creating ambiance in a room. You could use floor lamps, table lamps, or string lights to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Quality lighting could help your space feel both more pleasant and more luxurious. Soft lighting makes for a pleasant experience for anybody.

  1. Use mirrors to make the room feel more spacious

Inhabitr_how to style a small living room for maximum impact

How to Style a Small Airbnb Living Room for Maximum Impact

When you are working with a small space, it is important to make the most of every square inch. This can be a challenge, but it is definitely possible if you use some creative styling techniques.

In this blog post, we will discuss how to style a small living room in a way that makes your Airbnb feel larger and more spacious. We will also provide some small Airbnb living room tips on how to optimize the storage in your space. By following these tips, you will be able to create a beautiful and functional living space even if your apartment is on the smaller side!

With clever small living room design choices and thoughtful object placement, you could create a pleasant and stylish clutter-free living room. It could be just the perfect space to make your guests feel comfortable and to ensure good reviews and returns on investment.

  1. Use light and airy colors
Inhabitr_Use light and airy colors

One of the best ways to make a small living room appear larger is to use light and airy colors. This will help to create the illusion of more space. Try painting your walls in a light color, such as white or cream. You can also use pale-colored furniture to achieve this look.

Dark colors could have a way of closing in on your space, so it is best to avoid them if you want to create a more open and airy feel. A thoughtful color palette with light airy neutral and pastel bursts of vibrant accents could ensure a pleasant space.

  1. Incorporate mirrors
Inhabitr_Incorporate Mirrors

Another great way to make your small living room appear larger is to incorporate mirrors into your design. Mirrors reflect light, which will help to brighten up your space. You can use a large mirror as a focal point in your living room, or you can place several small mirrors around the room.

Mirrors add dimensions, so small rooms with mirrors could look and feel more spacious. You can experiment with different sizes, shapes, and styles of mirrors to see what works best in your space.

  1. Wall-mounted objects are a good idea
Inhabitr_Wall mounted objects are a good idea

Wall-mounted shelves, lights, and decor could spruce up your space without occupying any foot space. This would help you save a lot of space, which is especially important in small living rooms.

You can use wall-mounted shelves to display decor like artwork, vases, or show pieces. Wall lights are also a great way to add some extra light to your space without taking up any floor space.

  1. Be careful about selecting a sofa
Inhabitr_Be careful about selecting a sofa

A hefty, dark sofa could become a hassle really quickly, encumbering walking space and making one feel cramped. Get a small sofa, or even better, consider getting a loveseat and a couple of accent chairs / multipurpose seating furniture pieces like ottomans and benches. This way, you would have functional seating space in a clutter-free living room.

  1. Try to be minimalist about your interior design
Inhabitr_Choose minimalist interior design

A minimalist approach to interior design is often a good idea in small living rooms. This means that you should try to avoid clutter and keep your furniture and decor to a minimum.

When it comes to elegant small living room ideas, less is definitely more. By paring down your design, you will be able to create a more open and airy feel in your space. The key is to be thoughtful about what you functionally need in your space. This would also help you style your Airbnb on a budget, only putting in things that enhance the space.

  1. Optimize your storage
Inhabitr_Optimize your storage

If you have a small space, it is important to optimize its storage. There are many creative ways to do this, such as using small baskets or bins to store items, or having decorative multi-functional storage items.

You can also place hooks or racks to hang items, such as coats, scarves, or bags. Utilizing your storage space in a creative way would help your small living room feel organized and tidy.

By following these tips, you will be able to style a small Airbnb living room in a way that is both stylish and functional. Struggling to figure out how to style a small Airbnb living room? Inhabitr_how to furnish an open plan living room

How to Furnish an Open Concept Living Room Perfectly For Your Airbnb

When you’re furnishing an open concept living room, the biggest challenge can be making sure the space doesn’t feel too open and sparse. With no walls to section off different areas of the room, it can be tricky to figure out where to put furniture.

In this blog post, we’ll give you tips for stylishly arranging your furniture in an open floor plan living room. We’ll also tell you what pieces of furniture are essential for an aibnb open concept living room. So read on for some helpful advice!

Why Airbnb furniture layout is important –

Proper furniture alignment dictates how your space functions. A well-designed living room will have ample seating for entertaining, TV watching, conversations, and relaxing. A furniture layout that’s not properly planned can often make even a large space feel cramped.

If we were to list down the list of furniture that should be a prerequisite for an open-floor living room, it would look something like this –

You can surely add or subtract furniture and décor items based on your need/taste. But these are the basics! Now, let’s look at a few pointers that you should keep in mind to make your Airbnb open concept living room look stylish –

  1. Establish conversation spaces
Inhabitr_Establish conversation spaces

When you’re arranging furniture in an open plan, it’s important to create conversation spaces. This is where people can sit and chat with each other without feeling too spaced out. To do this, you’ll want to arrange your furniture in a U-shape or an L-shape. This will create an intimate seating area that people can gather around.

Rugs could help guide houseguests into the focal area of your home. By placing a rug under your coffee table or in front of your fireplace, you can create an inviting space for guests to sit and relax.

  1. Form a cozy atmosphere
Inhabitr_Form a cozy atmosphere

Open concept living rooms can often look a bit cold and impersonal. To make it feel cozier, you’ll want to add in some warm touches. This can be anything from throws and pillows to warm-toned lighting. Candles are also a great way to make an open space feel more inviting.

If you don’t know where to begin, look at the corners of your area. If you have a window in the corner of your living room, consider adding a small bench or chair next to it. This will create a cozy reading nook.

  1. Layer your lighting
Inhabitr_Layer your lighting

In an open concept living room, you’ll want to have a variety of lighting sources. This will help you create different levels of light in the room. For example, you might have a floor lamp next to a sofa for reading, and then a pendant light or chandelier over a dining table.

Layering your lighting will not only make the space more functional but will also make it more inviting. By having different levels of light, you can create different atmospheres in the room.

  1. Go for wood designs
Inhabitr_Go for wood designs

Wood has a warm and natural look that will make any space feel more inviting. You can also use wood to create contrast in an open-concept living room. For example, if your walls are white, you might want to add a dark wood coffee table or console table.

Or, if your living room is mostly neutral, you can add a pop of color with a wooden accent chair or side table. Oak and other darker woods can condense your room if not utilized properly, but midcentury inspiration can lend a stunning modern appeal and maintain the light and openness of your home.

  1. Personalize it with décor
Inhabitr_Personalize with decor

One of the best ways to make an open concept living room feel more personal is to add in some décor. This could be anything from throw pillows to art prints. You can place an antique vase on your coffee table or a few candles on your mantel. Adding greenery is also a great way to liven up an open space.

If you want to go for a more eclectic look, you can mix and match different décor items. Just make sure they all fit within the overall aesthetic of the room. However, you do not want to overboard it with too many knick-knacks as it will make a large room feel cluttered.

Another hassle is looking for all the furniture you need from separate places. So, Inhabitr is here to help you out! We have designer-curated living room furniture sets so that you can get everything you need.

We offer white-glove delivery and our trained professionals also give you design advice. Check out some cool ways of making your living room look unique and revamp your home today!

inhabitr_tips to furnish your apartment on a budget

How to Furnish Your Airbnb On a Budget: 8 Key Tips

Furnishing an Airbnb can be quite a hassle, especially if you’re new to the process or if you’re running on a tight budget. Figuring out how to furnish a small Airbnb on a budget can, too, be difficult and you might be looking for ways to minimize costs.

Here are some suggestions that won’t break the wallet but also will undoubtedly transform your space into a stylish, comfortable, and profitable space!

  1. Set a budget
inhabitr_Set a budget

You wouldn’t know how to be on a budget until you’ve penned down how much you can shell out. You’re going to get a return on your investment with time, but at the same time discretionary spending could help you out. Browse through furniture online to get a sense of average rates, and decide how much you want to spend.

We at Inhabitr believe that renting furniture can be extremely helpful in cutting down on large investment costs. If you want to spend monthly, you could browse Inhabitr’s apartment furniture rental packages!

  1. Start with big, basic pieces of furniture
inhabitr_get big basic pieces of furniture

Think of how the space would be used. Your guests would need a medium-sized sofa to sit on. You’d, apart from this, need a bed and a mattress, storage pieces like dressers and cabinets, and probably a couple of tables. We’d advise you to pick neutral colors and styles for these pieces so that you’d have more flexibility later in switching up the style of the space with throw pillows and accessories.

  1. Think multi-purpose furniture
inhabitr_think multipurpose furniture

Any small apartment can benefit greatly from a couch bed, Murphy bed, or loft bed. Ingenious small-space solutions include ottomans that serve as storage areas as well as coffee tables that can be transformed into dining tables. One of the best budget furniture tips is to get pieces that will be functional in multiple ways: a bench that can double as a table would probably be a super handy piece, for example.

  1. Bring out the antiques
inhabitr_get the antiques

Nothing instills a space with a feeling of knowledge and history like a beautiful antique. Things from large box stores just cannot replicate the patina of antique items. Simply hunt for something that appears to have been purchased from a Paris flea market; you don’t need to pay a fortune. Antiques could be your way of making cheap furniture work well.

It’s fantastic to have large items like lighting, mirrors, and furnishings, but smaller decorations can also work. Antique picture frames, wall sconces with sculptures, or crates from another era can all add a special touch to your space and make it appear more expensive than it actually was.

  1. Mirrors can be magic
inhabitr_mirrors can be magic

An inexpensive approach to improve a place is with mirrors. Mirrors give the appearance of more space and light in small or dim areas. Shops that specialize in home decor may have inexpensive mirrors, or you may go through estate sales for deals.

  1. Use decor creatively
inhabitr_use decor creatively

Wall art could be a way of dressing your space up. Even if you’re not artistic, creating wall art is quite simple. Simply stretched canvases are inexpensive and may be painted or decoupaged with nearly anything. Throw rugs, too, are a terrific way to bring warmth, color, and design to an otherwise boring space in addition to protecting the floor (and safeguarding your deposit).

One low-cost option to brighten a dull place is to add more lighting. Think in layers, working your way down, while illuminating a space.

  1. Consider renting furniture
inhabitr_consider renting furniture

Getting rental furniture could provide an excellent middle ground instead of shelling out huge chunks of money at a go. Check out our bedroom sets or living room sets! You might find an answer to your problems.

Inhabitr_Tips for keeping a Small Bedroom Clutter-Free & Stylish

8 Tips for keeping a Small Bedroom Clutter-Free and Stylish

When you’re living in a small space, it’s important to make the most of every square inch. This is especially true when it comes to your bedroom. A small bedroom can be just as stylish and comfortable as a larger one, you just need to know how to work with the space you have.

In this blog post, we will give you tips on how to arrange furniture in a small bedroom so that it remains clutter-free and chic. We’ll also provide small bedroom design tips for decorating your space on a budget, so you can create a relaxing oasis without breaking the bank.

  1. Stick to a simple layout
Inhabitr_Stick to a simple layout

When arranging furniture in a small bedroom, it’s important to keep things simple. A basic layout with clean lines will make the space feel larger and less cluttered. Stick to a few key pieces of furniture and avoid overcrowding the room.

It is not a bad idea to place the bed in the center of the room instead of an adjoining wall. This way you can create a natural flow and leave more space around the bed for other furniture pieces.

  1. Get a bed that can act as a storage option too
Inhabitr_Get a bed with storage

Yes, a bed is for sleeping, but it’s a lot of real estate in a small room. If a bed can also have storage, then it’s an added benefit. Look for a bed with shelves or cubbies underneath. These can be used to store everything from extra blankets and pillows to out-of-season clothes.

If you don’t want your storage to be on display, consider getting a bed with drawers built into the frame. This way, you can keep your belongings close at hand without fuss.

  1. Choose a versatile nightstand
Inhabitr_Get a versatile nightstand

Your nightstand is one of the most important pieces of furniture in your bedroom. It’s a place to set your alarm clock, keep a few books, and store your glasses or other nighttime essentials.

A wall-mounted nightstand is a great option for small bedrooms because it doesn’t take up any floor space. You can also opt for a floating nightstand, which is essentially a shelf that you can mount at any height.

  1. Set the mood with lighting
Inhabitr_Set the mood with lighting

Lighting is important in any room, but it’s especially crucial in a small space. You want to be able to create different moods and ambiances, so having lamps that can be dimmed is key.

Overhead lights are great for general illumination, but in a compact space, they can be harsh and not very inviting. So, in addition to an overhead light, make sure to add a few lamps around the room. You can place them on your nightstands, dresser, or even on the floor.

  1. Choose colors wisely
Inhabitr_Choose colors wisely

When it comes to painting your small bedroom, stick to light and neutral colors. These will make the space feel more open and airy. If you want to add a pop of color, consider doing it with your bedding or accessories.

Bold prints can also be overwhelming in a small room, so try to stick to smaller patterns. However, adding dark-colored throws during a cozy winter can create a lovely contrast.

  1. Mirrors do the magic
Inhabitr_Mirrors do magic

Adding a mirror to your bedroom is one of the easiest ways to make the space feel larger. You can hang a large mirror on the wall or prop a smaller one up on your nightstand or dresser.

Not only will mirrors reflect light and make the room appear brighter, but they will also create the illusion of more space.

  1. Be careful with your rug placement
Inhabitr_Be careful with rug placement

When figuring out a small room’s design, it’s important to be strategic with your rug placement. Rugs can help define the space and create visual interest, but they can also make a room feel smaller if they’re not placed correctly.

If possible, try to place your rug so that it only covers the area around your bed. When it comes to the color and pattern, lighter colors will make the space feel larger, while bolder prints can help define the area.

  1. Consider renting instead of buying furniture
Inhabitr_Consider renting

If you’re not ready to commit to buying furniture for your small bedroom, consider renting instead. Subscription furniture is a great option because it’s flexible and doesn’t require a long-term commitment.

It gives you the liberty of trying new styles and pieces without having to worry about what to do with them when you move or change your mind. Plus, it’s often more affordable than buying furniture outright!

And when it comes to renting furniture, what’s better than the best furniture rental company for 2022 – Inhabitr!

We offer you designer-curated bedroom furniture rental sets along with white-glove delivery and assembly. You can rent, buy or rent to buy our affordable furniture. So, redesign your bedroom today!

How to keep your interior decor timeless

How to Keep Your Interior Decor Timeless: Tips and Tricks

There are so many trends in interior decorating that it can be tough to keep up. One day, everything is shabby chic and the next, it’s all about minimalism. How do you make sure that your home looks stylish and timeless? By following these timeless interior design tips!

In this blog post, we will discuss how to choose furniture and accessories that will stand the test of time. We’ll also give you tips on changing your decor without making a significant impact on your wallet. So whether you’re just starting out with interior decorating or you’ve been doing it for years, this blog post is for you!

  1. Choose Furniture With A Clean Style
Inhabitr_Clean furniture styles

One of the easiest ways to make sure your furniture is timeless is to choose pieces with a clean style. This means avoiding anything too fussy or complicated. Stick to straight lines and simple shapes. This doesn’t mean that your furniture has to be boring, though! You can still choose pieces that are interesting and unique. Just make sure they have a clean look.

  1. Get Rid of Clutter
Inhabitr_Get rid of clutter

Less is more is a golden rule for timeless modern design and we stand by it (except for when we don’t). Another way to make sure your home looks timeless is to get rid of clutter. This means getting rid of anything that you don’t use or need. If you have a lot of knick-knacks, consider putting them in storage.

The less stuff you have, the more timeless your home will look. You’d likely be aiming for a cleaner, more innovative aesthetic.

  1. Use Neutral Colors for your furniture pieces
Inhabitr_Neutral colors for furniture

Whites, greys, blues, and browns never go out of style. They have a timeless and fresh charm that you could channel long-term in your space. Even more importantly, their neutral base ensures that they’re easy to accessorize! You can still add pops of color with accessories and furniture. But by keeping the main furniture neutral, you’ll create a timeless base.

Just check out our blog on how to style a grey sofa for example! There would be so many possibilities open for you to try out on a whim and on a budget.

  1. Switch things up with easily changeable accessories
Inhabitr_Get easily changeable accessories

You could add a bright set of vibrant pink or teal throw pillows, blankets, and table decor, for example. Or you could add trendy patterned throw accessories and artwork. By allowing that kind of flexibility with timeless interior design elements, you’d be setting yourself up for a reliably fresh space.

We recommend seasonal changes! Fall, spring, or summer-themed accessories could make your space spirited yet steady.

  1. Get earthy furniture and decor
Inhabitr_Add earthy furniture and decor

Nature-inspired looks are great for timeless home decor. Wood pieces are especially recommended for this: their charm is light and fresh, and at the same time cozy and organic. You could go for a rustic wood table or stool, some stone-looking vases, and greenery in woven baskets. The options are endless!

  1. Be detail-oriented
Inhabitr_Be detail oriented

Put thought into your interior design – what is something you’d love in your space long-term? What would create a functionally pleasant space? Think about mirrors, candles, art objects, dressers, and end tables.  All these details come into play when creating a timeless space!

Take your time in choosing each item. Not only will this make sure you love everything in your space, but it’ll also help you create a timeless design that you won’t grow tired of anytime soon.

  1. Blend styles into something you love
Inhabitr_blend styles into something you love

Your space is going to be yours. Instead of keeping with trends and specific styles, blend styles eclectically while maintaining a clean aesthetic. This could look like wooden dressers with metallic accents, or a contemporary style sofa with a coffee table. Get the lamp you love and the mirrors you adore. There are no rules.

By following these tips, you’re sure to create a home that looks fabulous and feels like an oasis – no matter what the trends are!

If you are just starting to figure out how to keep your interior design timeless and are afraid to invest money into furniture, you could always choose to rent. At Inhabitr Furniture Rental, we have a wide variety of styles: you’re super likely to find what you’re looking for.

We also provide the option to buy new, buy used, and rent-to-own furniture, and free white-glove delivery, assembly, and setup.

If you rent, you’d have the option to swap pieces to make your space look exactly the way you want, and you’d have the option to carefully curate pieces you want to buy with time. Check out our living room sets here!

Inhabitr_How to rent furniture for your first apartment

How To Rent Furniture For Your First Apartment

If you’re moving into your first apartment, the process of furnishing it can seem daunting. How do you know what to rent? How does renting furniture work? Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered! In this blog post, we’ll give you a guide to renting furniture for your first apartment.

Moving into your first apartment is an incredibly exciting milestone, with a lot to look forward to, and it can also be incredibly stressful with a hundred unforeseen responsibilities. We at Inhabitr believe that furniture doesn’t necessarily have to be a hassle in the middle of this.

We’ll discuss what furniture is essential, and how to find the best deals on apartment furniture rental packages. So read on for all the information you need to furnish your new place!

Essential Furniture For a Small Apartment

Inhabitr_Essential furniture pieces for a small apartment

One of the first things you need to do when you’re furnishing your new apartment is figuring out what furniture you actually need. This will depend on the size of your apartment, and how you plan on using the space. For example, if you have a small one-bedroom apartment, you may not need a lot of furniture. But if you have a large two-bedroom apartment, you’ll probably need more.

Keep functionality in mind: this space is going to be yours to use. You’d want your furniture to help you make the place more comfortable and conveniently arranged. A nightstand by your bed would make a difference when you want to conveniently access your stuff while resting, for example, while providing convenient storage.

Here’s a quick list of essential furniture for your first apartment:

– A bed

– A couch

– A coffee table

– Dressers or storage containers for clothes

– End tables or nightstands

Of course, you don’t need to stop there. You can also add other pieces of furniture like a TV stand, a bookshelf, or an ottoman. But these are the basics that you’ll probably need to get started.

Check out our blog on the best furniture pieces for a one-bedroom apartment!

Does renting furniture make sense?

Inhabitr_Does renting furniture make sense

The next question you need to ask yourself is whether or not renting furniture makes sense for you. There are a few factors to consider here. First, how long do you plan on living in this apartment? If it’s just for a year or two, it may not make sense to buy furniture – you can just rent it while you’re there.

Second, how much money do you have to spend? If you’re on a tight budget, renting furniture may be a better option than investing a huge chunk of money in buying furniture. Third, how much time do you have to set up your apartment? If you’re moving in right away and don’t have time to shop for furniture, renting it may be your best option.

We at Inhabitr think that renting furniture is a great idea! It is becoming increasingly popular, especially among young people who are always moving around. You could get packages that include everything from beds and couches to coffee tables and end tables. And the best part is that you don’t have to worry about moving or storing the furniture when you’re done – the rental company will take care of all of that for you.

Inhabitr provides the option to rent, rent-to-own, buy new, and buy used furniture so that you can get exactly what works for you!

Coastal Interior Design Ideas For a Breezy Home

Who doesn’t love the beach? You don’t have to live by the sea to enjoy the calming qualities of a coastal feel apartment. A good place to start is by playing with the colors of the sky, sea, and sand to form a dreamy theme. The entire concept of coastal interior design is to imbibe the feeling of living near the coast without actually living there.

The ideal coastal design ideas would enhance the aura of your interiors, and that is what you should be keeping an eye out for. Here’s a list of ideas that will aid in achieving the perfect coastal interior for your living space.

  1. Color it up!
Inhabitr_Color it up!

When it comes to colors, coastal chic with soft furnishings in calming whites, and blues/greens in furniture will help your theme come to life. A weathered, faded look is the essence of coastal interiors. White or neutral-toned walls add to the beach effect. This kind of coastal wall decor will amp up the vibe & feel of your living space.

2. Add the right furniture

Inhabitr_Add the right furniture

Furthermore, adding coastal design furniture that goes hand-in-hand with the feel of your space is essential. Furniture made from driftwood supports the sea charm and will add a wonderful coastal effect to your home. Our article on 7 Furniture & Decor Choices for a Relaxing Bedroom will definitely help you in choosing the ideal decor for your bedroom!

Since the material symbolizes a peaceful coastal charm, the addition of such furniture pieces will instantly amp up your space.

3. Mix layers & textures

Inhabitr_Mix layers and textures

You can create all the beach house interiors by layering up lots of different materials & textures. Furniture pieces like rugs, cushions, baskets, and wall hangings can all be incorporated into your current space to create that relaxed, laid-back feel that the coastal look is all about. Also, don’t forget to add hues of blue for the added effect.

4. Neutral goes a long way too

Inhabitr_Neutrals go a long way too

If you’re not a blue person, then neutrals can help. You will love the light, airy feel of coastal interiors. A simple neutral palette can be just as effective at evoking the vibe. Layer up different coastal colors and add natural materials for plenty of texture. When adding furniture, arrange them in small groups, in a random way, keeping with the whole informal look.

5. Stripes look good!

Inhabitr_Stripes look good!

Adding stripes to your accent or sofa in shades of blue will be a great step to make the entire look come together. The stripe is subtle enough so, if your tastes do change, it could be adapted to suit any style.

6. Add boho decor

Inhabitr_Add boho decor

Another fantastic idea is to integrate coastal boho decor. A blend of coastal style and bohemian influence, coastal boho decor can be added to your home. A mix of fresh & vibrant colors will induce the right feel, along with an amalgamation of weathered timber & rattan. Add a few rattan chairs, tassels & abundant greenery.

Take a look at Inhabitr’s gorgeous collection of outdoor furniture & select from an array of items!

7. Paint your walls

Inhabitr_Paint your walls

A  quick and easy way to get a lovely beach house look is to use paint smartly. Give your walls a new coastal color to instantly transform them into a room that just feels like it belongs by the sea. A lovely blue, a subtle teal works wonderfully & it works so nicely with creams and wooden accents.

8. Subtle colors are GOOD

Inhabitr_Subtle colors are good

To decorate your bedroom, consider striped blues/ greens for your linens. The addition of subtle colors to your white-washed walls will ensure you radiate a beach house effect. Remember, less is more. The more airy & light your room is, the more it feels like the sea.

9. A few miscellaneous tips

For some added fun, experiment with a huge glass vase & some fun tinted glass lights in coastal shades. You can elevate your dining space by adding furniture that’s again coastal. A pop of blue on the chair will make everything perfect!

At Inhabitr, you will be able to accomplish your coastal goals. Browse through Inhabitr’s unique collection to find something that suits your style & taste. The best part is that you can rent furniture pieces for as long or little as you would like! Happy furniture shopping!

May Newsletter: Inhabitr’s Summer Highlights

Spice up your decor this summer! Inhabitr’s May Newsletter has tips for making your house unique and welcoming.

Change a few things about your decor to celebrate the summer spirit. Be it because people are likely to visit your space during the vacation season or because a sunny environment charges your creativity, sprucing up your space is a great idea.

Now, buying new furniture every time you wish to remodel your home doesn’t seem economical. Thus, we suggest you rent furniture, and what’s a better option than a company that won the Best Rental Furniture company award in 2021 as well as in 2022!

MyDomaine cited our variety of options (rent, rent to own, buy new, and buy used) as the main reason why we provided the best rental furniture services across the United States. We appreciate the recognition since our number one priority is giving our customers the freedom to get what they want, how they want it when they want it.

Let’s get straight into the tips we have in store for you:

  • Simple Ways of giving your Living Room a Unique Look
Inhabitr_Give living room a unique look

With these living room design ideas, we help you get that perfect unique space in your home:

  1. Decorative Moulding

Decorative molding is one of the cheapest ways to give your room a high-end look without spending big bucks. And with a little time and DIY know-how, you can do it yourself on a weekend.

  1. Display an Antique

Large-scale accessories like lamps, mirrors, and pieces of furniture are great, but small accessories can also do the trick. Antique boxes, sculptural wall sconces, or even antique picture frames can give your room a certain uniqueness that makes it look like you spent more than you really did.

  1. Add Metallic Items

A few metallic surfaces help add a luxe look to any room; however, it’s important not to overdo it. A gold leaf mirror, a brass table, and a few pieces of vintage silver—are all things that can help you make your room look more expensive. It’s okay to think small. You only need a little to get a lot.

  • Entryway Design Ideas for a Welcoming Home
Inhabitr_Entryway Interior Design
  1. Keep Your Entryway Design Simple and Stylish

We love a bench for an easy place to put on and take off shoes. And a mirror is key for last-minute outfit checks and can help make smaller entryway designs feel more spacious!

  1. Create a Jaw-Dropping Focal Point

Entryways might be small, but they don’t have to be an afterthought. With the right interior design attention, your entryway can rival any other room in the house. And, considering this room gets so much traffic, it probably should.

Bonus points if you have space for a statement chandelier! Then, tuck in a few baskets for a stylish pop of storage. These are especially great for kid-friendly entryways where all the clutter can be hard to contain.

  1. Upgrade Your Welcome Mat

One simple, stylish swap we’d recommend is right at your feet. Upgrade your (indoor) welcome mat with an antique rug that sets a classic, worldly tone. The rug’s well-worn appeal will also keep the first few footsteps in the home from feeling too precious.

7 Furniture and Decor Choices for a Relaxing Bedroom

Your bedroom is supposed to be a place of comfort and relaxation. It’s a space where you can escape the stresses of the world and just enjoy some peace and quiet. A pleasant, cozy bedroom can make a world of difference in your quality of life – sinking into your mattress after a long exhausting day could be more helpful than you’d think.

If your bedroom isn’t comfortable, it’s not serving its purpose. In this blog post, we will give you some tips on how to create a comfortable bedroom using furniture and décor. Follow these tips, and you’ll be able to relax in style!

  1. Choose the right bedding
Inhabitr_Use thr Right Bedding

One of the most important aspects of a comfortable bedroom is the bedding. You need to choose sheets that are soft and cozy, with a comforter or duvet that is just the right weight.

It’s also important to find bedding that suits your personal style. If you prefer a more minimalist look, go for simple white bedding. If you want something a little more fun and festive, choose bedding with patterns or bright colors.

Make sure you choose the right mattress as well because that will make a big difference in how comfortable your bed is. Take some time to research different types of mattresses and find one that suits your needs.

  1. Add touches of wood
Inhabitr_Add touches of wood

Wood has a natural ability to make a space feel more inviting and comfortable. If your bedroom furniture is looking a little cold, try adding some wood accents. A tufted wooden headboard or bed frame will instantly warm up the room. You can also add a wooden nightstand or dresser.

  1. Use calm and soothing colors
Inhabitr_Use calm and soothing colors

The bedroom should be a calming space, so the color scheme is important. Stick to muted tones and earthy hues. This will create a serene atmosphere where you can relax. If you want to add a pop of color, go for a soft pastel shade.

Color psychology plays an important part in your emotional and mental wellbeing. A warm and welcoming color scheme could transform how you perceive your space.

  1. Lighting plays an important role
Inhabitr_Use the right colors

Harsh overhead lighting can be too bright and jarring. Instead, consider opting for softer light sources like table lamps or floor lamps. This will create a warm and inviting ambiance in your bedroom. You can also use candles to add some gentle light and scent to the space.

The key to an intimate mood is incorporating various sources of lighting, including soft bedside lamps and strategically mounted ceiling lights for a touch of drama.

  1. Design your windows
Inhabitr_Design your windows

Plants on your window pane are not only aesthetically pleasing, but they also have many benefits for your health. They can improve air quality and help to purify the air in your bedroom. Plants can also help to boost your mood and reduce stress levels. Choose a few low-maintenance plants that will thrive in your bedroom environment.

Adding drapes to your windows can also help to create a more intimate and cozy atmosphere. Thick curtains will block out any unwanted light and noise, helping you to sleep better at night.

  1. Use the coziness of décor items
Inhabitr_Use the coziness of decor items

Décor is also an important part of creating a comfortable bedroom. Choose items that are both beautiful and practical. For example, a cozy throw blanket can add both style and comfort to your space. A pillow is also a great way to add some extra comfort to your bedroom.

Including an area rug is also a great way to add comfort to your bedroom. It will help to warm up the space and make it feel more inviting. Choose a rug that is soft and plush, so you can feel comfortable when you are walking around your bedroom barefoot.

You could also personalize your bedroom décor.  Add some photos or artwork that you love, and that makes you feel happy and relaxed. Candles are also a great way to add some ambiance to your space. Choose scents that are calming and relaxing, such as lavender or chamomile.

  1. Incorporate storage pieces
Inhabitr_Incorporate storage pieces

Finally, don’t forget about storage. A bedroom always looks more cluttered because that’s the place where we go to rest, not to clean! Invest in some attractive storage solutions, such as baskets or boxes, to help keep your bedroom looking neat and tidy.

A nightstand or dresser with drawers is also a great way to keep your bedroom organized. You can store all of your bedside essentials, such as your alarm clock, book, and glasses, in one place. This will help to declutter your nightstand and make it look more stylish.

So, we hope that the above tips help you achieve your ideal bedroom! Remember, the bedroom should be a haven where you can relax and unwind. So take your time to design it accordingly.

Inhabitr_Office Desk Buying guide

How To Pick The Right Office Desk for Your Home Workspace

Not all desks are created equal – some are designed for people who need a lot of storage space, while others are perfect for people who need to spread out and work on multiple projects at once. Picking just the right desk is tricky but worth putting thought into: having the right office furniture can make a world of difference!

When shopping for a new home office desk, it’s important to keep in mind what kind of work you’ll be doing at your desk and how it’ll fit into your workspace. In this office desk buying guide, we’ll give you 5 tips for finding the perfect office desk!

  • Measure your space up
Inhabitr_Measure it up

When you’re looking for an office desk, the first thing you should do is measure the space you have available. You don’t want to end up with a desk that’s too big or too small for your space – it won’t be comfortable to work at, and it will make your office look cluttered.

  • Keep functionality in mind
Inhabitr_Keep Functionality in mind

Think about the type of work you’ll be doing at your desk. If you need a lot of storage space for files and supplies, then you’ll want a desk with plenty of drawers and shelves. If you need to spread out and work on multiple projects at once, then you’ll want a larger desk with plenty of surface area.

Picture yourself working: how would your daily work routine fit into your desk? Keep usability in mind while browsing your desk options.

  • Get the right material
Inhabitr_Get the right material

Consider the material of the desk. If you need a durable desk that will stand up to heavy use, then you should look for a desk made of solid wood or metal. Especially if you want to place heavy objects on your desk, you’d want to be on the lookout for a sturdy piece. If you just need a basic desk for light use, then you can look for a desk made of particle board or laminate.

  • Get the right style
Inhabitr_Get the right style

Think about the style of the desk. Do you want a traditional desk with plenty of storage space, or do you want a modern desk with a sleek design? Consider the other furniture in your office – you want to make sure that your new desk will match the rest of your décor.

Think of the overall look of your workspace: a well-designed office setup never hurt anyone. Does a white contemporary style desk sound like your type, or would you rather have an industrial style brown desk? Your options are endless and your preferences count. (Here are some tips on how to design the perfect home office!)

  • Set a budget
Inhabitr_Set a budget

Set a budget for your new office desk. Desks can range in price from a few hundred dollars to several thousand, so it’s important to set a budget before you start shopping. Once you know how much you’re willing to spend, you can narrow down your choices and find the perfect desk for your workspace.

You might also want to consider renting your office furniture if you don’t plan on using it for a long time. That way, you can get the perfect furniture for your needs without breaking the bank. Inhabitr’s office furniture rental options are varied and excellent.

From Inhabitr Furniture Rental, you could rent a desk for as little as $15 a month! You could also rent-to-own or buy a new or used office desk! We’re all about options.

We hope you found these tips helpful! If you’re still not sure which office desk is right for you, then please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you choose the perfect desk for your needs!

These spaces are usually on the smaller side, because of which entryway redesigns don’t require nearly as much work (or as big of a budget) as other rooms. What kind of vibe do you want to create? We’ve rounded up some creative and simple entryway ideas so that you don’t have to start from scratch.

Whether you’re just looking for small entryway design ideas or want to wow your guests with a statement-worthy entrance, we’ve got you covered.

  1. Create a Functional Entryway Checkpoint
Inhabitr_Create a Functional Entryway Checkpoint

The entryway is the first place you set foot into when you come home and the last place you see when you leave. Adding a few thoughtful touches can have a big impact on your entire day. Additions like drawers for mail, a tray for essentials like your keys and wallet, and hooks to hang your bag or coat will help organize the space—and your life!

Think about the things you grab on your way out the door and create an entryway design that helps remind you to take them with you. This will help ensure you’ll always be prepared to face the day.

  1. Add Personal Touches
Inhabitr_Add Personal Touches

After a long day, it is so nice to come home and be greeted by a space you love. Take a little extra care to curate decor and art in your entryway design so you are welcomed home by things you love from the moment you step through the door.

Consider adding in a few photos of your family, sculptures from a trip, or fun decor that showcases your personal style. A few of these personal touches in an entryway can instantly make your home feel like your perfect oasis.

  1. Keep Your Entryway Design Simple and Stylish
Inhabitr_Keep Your Entryway Design Simple and Stylish

Sometimes the best entryway designs are the simplest ones. All you really need is a piece of art or a stylish mirror, a console or bench, and a few pops of decor.

We love a bench for an easy place to put on and take off shoes. And a mirror is key for last-minute outfit checks and can help make smaller entryway designs feel more spacious! Finally, some potted plants and decorative pillows pack a delightfully stylish punch in any entryway, making them our must-have pieces to complete this space.

  1. Create a Jaw-Dropping Focal Point
Inhabitr_Create a Jaw-Dropping Focal Point

Entryways might be small, but they don’t have to be an afterthought. With the right interior design attention, your entryway can rival any other room in the house. And, considering this room gets so much traffic, it probably should.

It doesn’t take much to create a gorgeous look here either—pick a console table you love, hang a show-stopping work of art, and cover the floors with a gorgeous rug (just make sure it has a durable weave and can stand up to extra foot traffic).

Bonus points if you have space for a statement chandelier! Then, tuck in a few baskets for a stylish pop of storage. These are especially great for kid-friendly entryways where all the clutter can be hard to contain.

  1. Upgrade Your Welcome Mat
Inhabitr_Upgrade your welcome mat

One simple, stylish swap we’d recommend is right at your feet. Upgrade your (indoor) welcome mat with an antique rug that sets a classic, worldly tone. The rug’s well-worn appeal will also keep the first few footsteps in the home from feeling too precious. Check out Inhabitr’s rugs, you might find something you love!

  1. Have a Seat
Inhabitr_Have a seat

A simple way to make guests feel at home is to have a seat positioned prominently in your entryway. Benches and chairs alike provide a practical opportunity to sit down while putting on or taking off shoes (or to simply take a load off for a few moments.) Entry seating can also be easily accessorized with throw pillows and plants that showcase your personal style as a preview of the rest of the home.

An entryway that reflects who you and your family truly are inspires a welcoming home. Hope these entryway interior design ideas help you achieve that!

Check our Inhabitr’s end tables, console tables, and decor items if you want to buy or rent entryway furniture. Our curated furniture rental sets are designed for fresh and elegant spaces. Inhabitr_Sustainable Living

How Inhabitr Provides Sustainable & Affordable Furniture

Inhabitr was recently mentioned in Apartment Therapy, a lifestyle blogs and publishing company that focuses on home design & décor. They shed light on our initiative of keeping furniture out of the landfills & adopting a sustainable approach by using our furniture cloud. Inhabitat, a blog that speaks often about the importance of a green lifestyle, also talks about our initiative to keep furniture out of landfills.

It is a system that links us directly to the inventory across nationwide warehouses. Thus, we can ensure timely delivery all over the country. Even during a supply chain crisis, Inhabitr guarantees a prompt delivery merely because of our Furniture Cloud Technology. We make use of the unused and available inventory which to be fair, is a lot!

Approximately 9 million tons of furniture go to the landfill each year (source) and about 60% of it is in a reusable state. Inhabitr’s mission is to make sure that no furniture hits the wasteland without being utilized to its full potential. Our refurbishing team makes sure that even used furniture items are made available in a factory-finish state.

We can proudly say that so far we have saved $5 million worth of furniture from ending up in a landfill.

Apartment Therapy also mentioned, “Inhabitr even offers delivery and installation within just a few days of ordering. It’s an option for those who need to furnish temporary housing, businesses, or rental properties. When you’re done with the piece of furniture, Inhabitr will come and pick it up at the end of your rental agreement. The company then cleans and repairs the furniture item and makes it available for the next customer.”

“If you don’t have a way to let used furniture make its way back into the mainstream, you’re never going to solve the landfill problem,” Ankur Agrawal, founder, and CEO of Inhabitr, also says, ”With our technology, we’re creating a way in which every consumer who wants to use a couch for a year, for example, and wants to trade it in for a different couch, will have the option to place their furniture into our cloud. Our cloud will then put it back into someone else’s home while allowing people to achieve the design aesthetic that they’re looking for, and be able to create a fair value for that couch.”

Not only furniture items but we also offer decor items for you to upscale your interior design. Our wide range of designer-curated furniture sets makes it easy for you to select a style. So, do your bit towards sustainability and live comfortably with Inhabitr! Place an order now and get your home furnished within 72 hours!

What To Look For When Buying a TV Stand: Inhabitr’s Guide

The most common form of entertainment in every household is watching TV: sitting back on a couch after a long day watching a beloved show is a classic. With good interior design choices, the TV area can be a stylish section of your house, too, while being functional.

To give your flat-screen a classy and stylish look, you might want to pair it with a TV stand with good storage and sleek looking features. You could check out Inhabitr’s TV Stands! We have a wide range that goes with several types of televisions. We provide customers with designs that suit their space.

A TV stand allows you to organize all of your consoles, DVDs, and other electronic devices, resulting in a clutter-free environment. Figuring out how to pick tv stands can be tricky. Here’s a TV Stand buying guide to make your search easier!

  1. Look for the Class Apart Look

While buying a TV stand, you should always consider the look of the unit, since it should reflect your personality like your other furniture. It could be a classy look or a quirky design, for example. It should go with the living room set up as well, and you can choose between different colors like wooden, black and others, to find the bold look you’d want.

Looking at Inhabitr’s TV Stands’ designs might help you get a better sense of the options available!

  1. The Size and Type

One of the key factors to consider is the size and type of the TV you’re going to have on the stand: figuring out how to pick tv stand height is important. You do not want a stand that’s too big or too small; the right size is crucial. Generally, the stand should be a little bigger than your TV. It should be sturdy enough to take the weight of your TV and other electronic gadgets.

Imagine the functionality of your TV Stand and pick accordingly. Where’d you be watching TV? Do you want it at eye level? Assess and buy.

  1. Storage

The storage of the entertainment unit should be accustomed to your needs. Before going out to buy a TV stand, evaluate your storage needs. It should have plenty of space for accessories which go with the TV, like a home theater, DVD layer, gaming console. You can also go for a stand which provides a little extra space for a bookshelf. You’re likely to appreciate the space in the future.

  1. Room Size

You might have all the above factors all settled in your mind but in order to be successful with your TV stand shopping, you have to keep in mind the size of the room you’re going to be putting it in. Measure your room and act accordingly. A bigger room requires a big unit whereas a smaller room will require something more cozier.

The TV stand enhances the elegance of your room while also providing you with plenty of extra space. A trendy, attractive, and strong TV stand could help you make your space look more modern and put together. Implementing TV Stand ideas well could make a useful entertainment space in your home, too!

If you’re looking for furniture, check out Inhabitr! We’re a furniture rental company that also offers options to buy new and used furniture. You might find just what you’re looking for! With white-glove delivery, assembly, and pick up, we try to make furniture as hassle free as possible. Check out living room furniture rental packages here!

How To Give A Living Room A Unique Look

There’s nothing like crafting a well designed living room suitable for entertaining guests and enjoying life with loved ones. The nucleus of the house often sets a tone for the rest of your house: it’s very often the space guests see first in the house, and it’s likely the place people spend most time in.

Strike the perfect balance between modern, unique and vintage styles in your living room. The overall design and style need to be taken into consideration to create a fuss-free space. You’d also want to figure out how to give character to a living room, so that it looks like your space truly.

With these living room design ideas, we help you get that perfect unique space in your home!

  1. Decorative Moulding

Decorative moulding is one of the cheapest ways to give your room a high-end look without spending big bucks. And with a little time and DIY know-how you can do it yourself in a weekend.

However, even if you decide to hire a professional, it’s still relatively low-cost and well worth the investment. For the most sophisticated and elegant look, paint the moulding the same colour as the walls.

  1. Display an Antique

Nothing gives a room a sense of wisdom and history more so than a lovely antique. Antique items have a patina that simply can’t be recreated in items found in big box stores. You don’t need to spend a fortune, just find something that looks like you might have picked it up at a Paris flea market.

Large-scale accessories like lamps, mirrors, and pieces of furniture are great, but small accessories can also do the trick. Antique boxes, sculptural wall sconces, or even antique picture frames can give your room a certain uniqueness that makes it look like you spent more than you really did.

  1. Include Curvy Shapes

A room where all the lines are straight and clean might fall flat. To add depth and interest to any room it’s important to use a variety of shapes. If the goal is to make the room look more elaborate, add some curvy items. These can come from anywhere—accessories, mirrors, lamps, furniture legs, the list goes on.

  1. Add Metallic Items

A few metallic surfaces help add a luxe look to any room; however, it’s important not to overdo it. A gold leaf mirror, a brass table, a few pieces of vintage silver—these are all things that can help you make your room look more expensive. It’s okay to think small. You only need a little to get a lot.

  1. Fresh Flowers

Fresh flowers can instantly lift the mood of a room; the bigger the bouquet, the more luxurious the look. That’s not to say you need a huge ostentatious display on every surface, but make sure any bouquets you display are not sparse, but rather full and lush.

A big, bountiful bouquet of flowers on a coffee table or mantle adds instant character. You could pick a bouquet that reflects your personality: do you want roses or orchids or something else?

Any type of interior designed living room can be instantly face-lifted with these quick changes, These elegant living room designs — which also happen to be budget-friendly — will give you pointers on refreshing your space or moving forward with a complete revamp. With a few fresh updates, you could get a truly unique looking space that’s yours truly.

If you’re looking to set your space up, you could consider renting furniture as well. Figuring out how to decorate living rooms can be tricky. Inhabitr Furniture Rental has designer-curated living room sets that go super well together! With this, along with white-glove delivery, assembly, and delivery, Inhabitr’s flexible furniture options are a great choice.

Check out Inhabitr’s furniture sets here, or have a look at our sofas, coffee tables, and accent chairs!

Spring Home Decor Ideas For A Flowery Fresh Space

Spring is inarguably a very pleasant season. With the coldness of winter finally over, you’re likely ready to step outside with a fresh spirit to enjoy the breeze. Just thinking about it evokes freshness, light-heartedness, and warmth.

You might want to be your best self this new season, embracing the liveliness it implies. You might want your living space to reflect this as well: you might want to update your home for the season, switching from a warm and cozy winter setup to one that’s spacier and lighter.

With this in mind, here’s a list of spring home decor ideas and tips that help you create the perfect space for the season.

  1. Incorporate flowers in your home decor

Flowers are probably the first thing that comes to mind when talking about spring: it’s the season of blossoms. Bringing flowers into your home decor could create a space that’s both incredibly pretty and pleasant. Put in a floral arrangement as a centerpiece on your coffee table or as an element on a side table/console table.

Floral patterns are also in style right now. You could get bedsheets, curtains, or wallpaper with floral designs on them!

  1. Use nature-inspired earthy materials

We’re talking rope, wood, and stone. These materials would make your home feel more connected to nature, putting organic elements into the overall look of your place. You could even pick a bohemian-style decor plan for your space if you like a nature-inspired organic look to your space.

  1. Use lighter fabrics

The end of winter means putting aside heavy and warm fabrics. Bring in cotton and linens to keep the space cooler. We suggest opting for lighter colors while you’re at it: neutral whites are definitely some of the spring interior design trends of 2022, for example. Pastels are also a spring classic, being both colorful and easy on the eyes.

  1. Bright, lively accents are excellent

Adding vibrantly colored accents could truly make your space stand out. Get hot pink, ultramarine blue, or emerald green accents maybe, to jazz up your place. A bright yellow accent table could get you a great cheerful look, perfect for anticipating summer!

  1. Switch up your lighting

Bright light fixtures are one of the interior design trends of 2022. Chandeliers and wall sconces are a good idea if you want an elegant look! Generally, too, changing the lighting in your home would be a good way to upgrade your house for a new season. You could take this as a cue to get new table lamps: listen to your heart.

  1. Get plants in

Having greenery in your space is always a good idea: plants add a splash of color and freshness to your decor. In springtime especially they’re a great idea: don’t hold yourself back on the greenery. If you don’t have a green thumb or find plants too inconvenient, get artificial plants!

  1. Set up a breezy lounge space

Spring is the perfect time to decorate your patio. You can sit outdoors with a drink in your hand, enjoying the warmer temperatures and taking time out for yourself. If you don’t have a patio, maybe see if you can create a space to sit back and relax near a window!

Decorate this space with your comfort in mind. Self-care, too, is trending! Make space for it: have comfortable seating, throw pillows, etc. Get colorful pastel decor if you want to go all out. Your headspace makes all the difference, and springtime is just the time to create an environment best for it.
If you like switching up your space often, consider renting furniture! You get furniture pieces without having to spend too much money at one go, and you can swap pieces whenever you want a new look. Check out Inhabitr’s sofas and end tables, maybe! You might find the perfect piece for your living room spring home decor ideas.

INhabitr_How To Make Your Home Look More Modern

How To Make Your Home Look More Modern: Tips From Inhabitr

The combination of modern and stylish looks often feels like a dream come true in your home.  Interior designers are constantly creating beautiful homes of contemporary style. Inspired by this, we’ve put together this guide on how to modernize your home exterior and interior.

It turns out that modern homes are the easiest to decorate, even if they’re small. If you’re looking for interior design on a budget, modern home décor and furnishing is your answer.

Not only this, there are plenty of options for creating that modern house vibe in literally any home.  Listed below are some tips & tricks to make your home look modern.

  1. Use of earthy tones:
Inhabitr_Use of Earthy Tones

Earthy neutral tones are not only soothing and contemporary but also magically add space and make the room look bigger and brighter. Adding earthy palettes to your home means inviting a more modern, chic look for that wow effect.

  1. Paint it!
Inhabitr_Paint It!

Painting walls gives an instant lift to your home. Imagine having worn-out walls, not a good view, right? By painting, you’re not only covering flaws, but you’re also putting on a fresh and smooth stroke. You can choose to re-paint your home with lighter, earthy tones to balance out the look and make the space look modern and appealing.

  1. Declutter
Inhabitr_Declutter

The most important aspect of any modern home is the absence of unwanted items. Begin with decluttering your space, scoop out the excess, and voila!

To clean the space is not only good for you but is also proven as an essential step to a modern home. Modern stands for minimalistic, by reducing and removing non-essentials you can smoothly transition into a modern decor approach.

  1. Revamp your kitchen
Inhabitr_Revamp Your Kitchen

When talking about modern home decor, the kitchen is an essential area to work on. Over the years, designers have come up with multiple ways of ensuring the kitchen is full of utility without eating up your space.

A modern kitchen is one that has lighter designs with modern technologies and metal appliances. Brushed metal appliances and industrial tones work well to create a contemporary look.

  1. Open plan
Inhabitr_Open Plan

Open plan is becoming more & more in use because of its approach to make the house look bigger & brighter without adding any extensions. When done well, an open plan redesign can enhance your lifestyle as well as the building itself.

  1. Opt for hardwood flooring over carpet
Inhabitr_Opt For hardwood flooring

Wall-to-wall carpets definitely make the house look warmer but hardwood flooring can look modern and can be available at affordable prices. Hardwood lasts for a longer period of time & looks classic & chic. Hardwood lasts a long time, and provides a nice return on investment, especially if you ever resell your home.

  1. Get the right furniture
Inhabitr_Get the right furniture

If you’re setting up a new space and you haven’t acquired your furniture yet, pick pieces with a modern aesthetic in mind. You’re looking for sleek lines and solid designs in your pieces so that your furniture contributes to the look you’re reaching for.

Inhabitr_Small Room decor ideas to expand space

“Space-tacular” Small Room Decor Ideas To Expand Space

The battle for space is never-ending in compact homes. The living rooms, especially, are expected to have all the essentials and yet look spacious. We wish to have spacious bedrooms as well, to be as comfortable as we can in our space.

The inherent problem with compact spaces is that they allow little room for experimentation. But we at Inhabitr think that space constraints can also spark creativity and lead to better interiors. Ever heard the saying, necessity is the mother of all invention? It holds true even when you’re trying to make the best of your space!

We have our fair share of advice to give about decorating small spaces on a budget. Use these design-savvy tips and tricks to get the perfect simple interior house design for small spaces!

  1. Focus on the Floor
Inhabitr_Focus on the floor

The floor takes up a significant amount of square footage and thus is one of the most high-impact spaces in your living room. Use one flooring material, such as wood or carpet, throughout your living room and adjoining rooms to visually expand the space and create flow with your design. In that same vein, avoid interrupting the eye with contrasting floor coverings.

Use sofas and cabinets with legs, so the floor fades under the furniture rather than stopping suddenly at a wall of wood or fabric.

  1. Use Furniture That Makes the Room Appear Bigger
Inhabitr_use furniture that makes the room bigger

We all stick to the “smaller the space, lesser the furniture” mantra – it’s a wise rule to practice. However, it might be hard to follow as the living room is a space for gatherings and requires a lot more than a chair and a table.

There are various types of furniture perfect for incorporating elegant small living room ideas and expanding space, such as floating or wall-mounted furniture, lightweight furniture like glass tops, slender legs, or that are see-through, and so on. Check out Inhabitr’s living room furniture rental sets! You might find just what you’re looking for.

  1. Buy a king-sized bed
Inhabitr_Buy a king-sized bed

It might sound counterintuitive, but large, relaxing pieces such as a big bed or a sofa can make it seem like you have more space. Try splurging on the pieces that will help you to relax the most. Check our Inhabitr’s beds, sofas, and sectional sofas! Our wide range of items ensures that there’s something for everyone.

  1. Add a Focal Point
Inhabitr_Add a focal point

Emphasize a focal point or accent piece in order to take people’s attention away from the size of the room. So choose a grand statement piece or artwork to flaunt your living room. Also, remember to keep the rest of the room clutter-free so that your accent gets the pace to shine. Pick an elegant art piece or a floor lamp!

  1. Arrange for Traffic Flow
Inhabitr_Arrange for traffic flow

Uninterrupted movement is one sign of a large space, so arrange your furniture in a way that allows everyone to move easily from one area to the next. Determine how someone enters the room and where they’re most likely to go, such as to a sofa or desk chair, then arrange the furniture so people can use paths without obstruction.

Make sure to allow enough space to perform tasks common to the room, such as opening and closing window coverings and reaching for light switches.

Inhabitr_Things To Remember When Furnishing Your First Apartment

Things To Remember When Furnishing Your First Apartment

Moving into your new apartment is exciting, and moving into your first apartment stirs up the excitement that cannot be measured. With the excitement of moving in comes the stress of how to furnish your apartment.

It’s also a challenge because there are so many major purchases to make, often with a budget in mind. And while it’s completely possible to create a good-looking space within the most reasonable budget, the most important thing to consider is what pieces of furniture are really worth spending money on.

There is basic planning you must do while furnishing your new apartment. Here’s a minimalist first apartment checklist, with Inhabitr’s first apartment tips to make this process a bit easier.

  1. Compile a list of all necessities
Inhabitr_Compile a list of necessities

It is a great idea to always begin with items that you think you need. For example, jot down the furniture pieces according to each room. For example, for the living room, you will need a seating furniture piece for sure. Likewise, for the bedroom, a bed and mattress are necessary.

You may also include other items when jotting down what you need for your first apartment, according to your personal taste and budget. Try to exclude the items that you already have. By preparing a proper list, you’ll get the approximate amount you need to invest for furnishing your apartment.

  1. Always begin with the basics
Inhabitr_Begin with the basics

When furnishing your first apartment on a budget, beginning with the basics will work in your favor. It makes your work easier & hassle-free.

Installing lights and ceiling fans are the basic works to be completed. Choosing wall paint is yet another basic step. If you need to add flooring materials, make sure you do it first. Choosing the correct lighting, kitchen interiors, etc tops the basics list. There will be plenty of time to add flourishes once the basics are covered.

  1. Spend on the correct furniture pieces
Inhabitr_Spend on the correct furniture pieces

When you plan to decorate your first apartment, purchase universal furniture pieces as well as good quality ones. If you are not sure about your long term stay, you can even rent furniture. Inhabitr is one such furniture rental portal where you can choose from an array of furniture pieces at extremely affordable prices.

If you’re buying furniture, aim to buy pieces you want to keep for approximately five years. This means considering what is and what isn’t worth spending money on. If you are planning to spend on furniture, do not compromise on your sofa and mattress. Nightstands, decor items, etc can be purchased at lower rates.

  1. Use multi-purpose furniture
Inhabitr_Use multi-purpose furniture

Multi-purpose furniture is the best option for your apartment when space is a problem. A single furniture piece sometimes can be used for multiple purposes, thus it can save the cost and space. Beds with storage options are amazing. The Convertible Chair Bed not only looks chic and comfortable, it also folds out into a lounge-chair-style bed.

Compact enough to be a living room end table, or a home office desk, yet expandable enough to be a full dining table, a multifunctional Folding Table is a multi-use furniture piece for the modern home. The ottoman is another furniture piece that works well as multi-purpose furniture.

  1. Keep a budget and abide by it
Inhabitr_Keep a budget and abide by it

While figuring out how to furnish your first apartment cheap, make a budget & stick to it. A lot of items can be at great discounts across the year. Online shopping can cut off the cost as compared to retailers. If you’re into styling & like to change your interior every few months, consider renting furniture. Rental furniture gives you the flexibility to swap furniture whenever you’d like to.

You should set a budget for furniture as well as other things, Also, make sure that you haven’t crossed the amount that you fixed to each department.

If rental furniture is what you’re considering for renting your first apartment, Inhabitr is a new age furniture rental company that has an array of furniture pieces to choose from for each range & taste. Rent for as long as you want or even for a short period of time, choice is yours.

Inhabitr’s Guide To Furniture Rentals And Why They’re A Good Idea

Renting furniture is now easier and more convenient than it has ever been. If you aren’t ready to splurge on new furniture, be it a sofa or dining set, renting a high-quality furniture piece is a great alternative.

Furniture rental companies help you get furniture conveniently, without you having to spend a huge chunk of money at one go. Want to know more about them? This blog tells you everything you need to know about furniture rentals.

  1. Does renting furniture make sense ?

There are endless reasons as to why renting furniture is a good option. Even if you’re staying somewhere temporarily, you’re going to need furniture. Rather than buying furniture pieces that you may or may not use later, picking affordable rental furniture is a far more hassle-free option.

Moving bulky pieces from one apartment to another can be a huge hassle, especially in a long-distance move. Especially for students, people in the army & working professionals, renting comes in handy.

Due to its short-term rental value, furniture rentals have now become a convenient and useful alternative.

If you’re someone who loves to play around with schemes & styles & like to experiment with their interiors often, you may want to consider renting. Have the furniture pieces for as long as you wish & have it taken away just when you’d like. Now that sounds like a hassle-free experience!

  1. Cost of rental furniture

Usually, there is a monthly cost associated with furniture rentals. The price may vary depending upon the size, quality, location of delivery, etc. But if you are looking for a yearly rental plan, it would be super cost-effective.  The furniture may be yours to keep, depending on whether you are renting-to-rent or renting-to-own.

Inhabitr is a new age furniture rental company that has taken furniture rentals to the next level. With amazing AI functionality and affordable deals, you can rent furniture as well as rent to buy it. We offer luxurious-looking pieces at great prices: check out our living room and bedroom furniture sets to get an idea. You can rent a gorgeous set for as little as $60 per month!

  1. Benefits of renting furniture

Renting furniture has become a more cost-effective way to keep up with the current design trends. When it comes to the millennials and younger generation, the objectives of buying a house no longer seem to be the same. While in the past some people may have saved up for furniture items, things have changed over a period of time. People these days prefer investing in gadgets, going on trips, learning new skills, etc.

Renting furniture comes with endless benefits, it’s cost-effective, environment-friendly, available on a short-term lease, etc. Furniture is destined for the landfill, but not all of it is recyclable. Materials like PVC and foam are difficult to decompose, which leads to landfill blockages.

Furniture that has been rented returns to the supplier to be discarded or re-rented to the next person. Rather than ending up in landfills, items are diverted from them and put to better use.

  1. Renting duration

In most cases, the duration lasts anywhere from one day to two years.  A month-to-month rental that is less than six or 12 months may be more expensive. Consider how long you’ll need the furniture before choosing a rental period.

Ask about the costs of short-term furniture rental when you look for options. Inhabitr provides flexible pricing for short and long-term rentals and also provides a break-free option where you can simply return the item before the lease expires.

Conclusion:

It’s all about your needs. If you do want long-term furniture, then investing in good purchase options might work well for you.

When is renting furniture a good idea? If you want to avoid making too much of a dent in your finances at one go, if you’re living in a temporary space, or if you just don’t want to spend too much time and effort on figuring out furniture.

Overall, renting furniture is not only hassle-free but also makes your life easy with delivery, set up, and returns. Rental furniture also comes with flexibility, as you can experiment with different styles & schemes and swap pieces as & when you like.

Inhabitr_How To Make a Temporary Apartment Feel Like a Home

How To Make a Temporary Apartment Feel Like Home: 5 Easy Steps

The moving process is difficult. It can be stressful and pretty expensive to move all your furniture and decor — especially if you’re heading cross-country. However, if you are only planning to move to a city for a short period of time for travel or a contract job, the situation gets even more interesting.

While you want your temporary pad to feel like a home, you also don’t want to endure the costs of shipping tons of items back and forth. While you might feel overwhelmed, there’s no reason to be! You can easily style an apartment with just a few items. All you have to do is evaluate what is essential and get strategic with your purchases.

Of course, there are a few hacks to make the process less of a headache. Want some decor tips on how to make a rented apartment feel more like home? Read ahead and get packing.

  1. Add Some Life with Plants
Inhabitr_Add Plants

Having live plants or even faux plants in your space can make it feel like home. Plants tend to liven up the area and give the space a comforting feel. Check out your local plant nursery for seasonal sales to find some lovely potted or hanging plants. If you have a black thumb like some of us, faux plants are a great idea!

Some good places to put greenery are window sills, tables, hanging in the kitchen, living room, or other brightly lit areas of your home. Plants that will bloom indoors give a nice colorful look to your living space.

  1. Get Non-Permanent Decor
Inhabitr_Get Non-Permanent Decor

Just changing up your apartment decor can make your place feel more like home. You do not need to go out and purchase expensive furniture to create a homey atmosphere. You would be surprised by how just simply adding a rug here or a colorful blanket there will liven up space.

Update your bedding to something cozy and add a few more pillows for added comfort. Nothing says “home” more than a comfy bed.

The trick to figuring out how to decorate a rental apartment is putting together easy personal touches and loved belongings here and there, creating a space you can love without making too much investment.

  1. Paint the Walls, If You Can (If You Can’t, Try Some Other Tricks)
Inhabitr_Paint the Walls, If You Can (If You Can’t, Try Some Other Tricks)

Most temp places will allow you to paint as long as you do not use dark colors. It just needs to be a color that can be easily painted over later for new tenants. Try painting an accent wall in a pretty pastel. This will give your space a pop of color and make it feel like your own. Or just paint everything a nice crisp white and go with the Scandi look.

Add some photos in beautiful frames to your walls. Maybe try a wall sconce or some other simple artwork around the rooms of your home. Just adding a few pieces to your walls here and there can make your temporary living space feel like your own.

  1. Be Strategic with Lighting
Inhabitr_Be Strategic with Lighting

A lot of temporary places do not have sufficient lighting. Some do not even have any overhead lighting and rely on the tenants to bring their lamps. This gives you an excellent opportunity to make your home feel like your own by choosing your light.

Floor lamps tend to make your home feel more spacious and inviting. You can also buy some cute matching table lamps to tie the room together while also adding some much-needed brightness. If you already have lamps, try livening them up by switching out the lampshades for something else. Just these little changes can make you feel right at home.

  1. The Nose Knows
Inhabitr_The Nose Knows

If you’ve just moved, you may not be quite ready to put pictures or artwork on the walls. A faster way to make yourself comfortable is to introduce a favorite smell into your new apartment.

We tend to remember scents more than the other senses, so you’re going to make sure you have the right scent in the new apartment. Set up some plants that give off good odors, burn some candles, or set some air fresheners around the apartment. Like lightning, it’s a small, easily overlooked change that can completely change the feeling of your apartment.

  1. Bonus Tip: Renting Might Be The Answer
Inhabitr_Renting Might be the Answer

Renting furniture and decor items could let you get your dream space for smaller periods of time. Client Showcase: How Inhabitr Transformed Former ABC News Anchor Adrienne Bankert’s Space

Inhabitr prides itself on turning houses into homes. Working with the goal of making the furnishing process more flexible and hassle-free, we set up our customers’ spaces in a way that’s convenient, effective, and cost-friendly.

Recently, Inhabitr worked with Adrienne Bankert to furnish her apartment.

This was exciting: Adrienne Bankert is an award-winning journalist, author, and coach. She was the former host of Good Morning America as a news correspondent at ABC News. Currently, she’s the host of “Morning in America” at NewsNation Network. It was a pleasure to set up her space and help her out in her journey.

The Process

Adrienne had moved to an apartment in Chicago for her new job, and since she’d been very focused on work, she didn’t have furniture for months.

She looked into options of buying furniture, but with the current supply chain issues most furniture takes months to arrive. After finding out about the option of renting furniture through some friends, she got in touch with Inhabitr to set up her space. And voila, Inhabitr furnished her apartment in thirty minutes!

Having driven the design process, Inhabitr had worked with her to pick pieces of furniture that aligned with her design vision and style. With chic and comfortable pieces, we tried to help make her apartment look and feel more like home. From contemporary wooden console tables to soft and pretty throw pillows, our pieces tried to make her space match her style and personality.

“I needed something more temporary while I designed my dream home. I found Inhabitr & they made a whole design plan in 24 hours. They delivered within 48 hours and had everything set up in my house in 30 minutes!!  I can’t say enough great things!!”, says Adrienne Bankert.

She writes in her Facebook post,

“Inhabitr took my ideas and turned this around so quickly! I loved what they came up with, and it’s all rental furniture but it looks so new & nice!”

Why Choose Inhabitr

Inhabitr provides its customers with high-quality designer rental furniture. If you’re living in a temporary space and don’t really want to worry about furniture for your next move, or if you just don’t want to spend too much at one go on furniture, we’ve got you covered.

Inhabitr_Home office furniture on a budget

How to Set Up Your Home Office on a Budget

With the world steadily settling into working from home, home office setups have come into vogue as people figure out the best way to create their workspace. The most integral part of such a home office is probably work-from-home furniture.

When you start working from home, you might wind up just diving into the work at hand and forget that you can actually personalize your home office. Take advantage of this great remote work perk and create an office space that suits your style and your budget!

Why You Must Invest In Proper Work-From-Home Furniture

The importance of proper workspace furniture is vital from the point of employee health. It is because many employees spend most of their day using these items. Working with faulty furnishing will affect their body posture and harm productivity for some parts as well.

Ergonomic office furniture makes a workspace attractive, thereby lifting one’s mood. It also provides a comfortable, safe, and sound working environment for employees, and it often leads to better organization and efficiency. Check out our blog on the benefits of ergonomic office furniture!

Getting good-quality home office furniture on a budget is trickier. Here are a few tips on how to create the most budget-friendly home office:

  1. Repurpose Office Furniture and Décor
Inhabitr_Repurpose Office Furniture and Décor

The cheapest home office setup relies on furniture and accessories you already have. So, try pulling what you can from around your own home while you save up. Look for any ergonomic and motivational pieces that’ll add to the comfort of a 9-hour workday.

This might be a cozy accent chair in the living room or a pretty artwork in the foyer – you might like their placement better in your new home office.

  1. Balance Spending on Office Essentials
Inhabitr_Balance Spending on Office Essentials

A budget-friendly home office starts with what the space needs to be functional: a desk, a chair, your electronics, practical lighting. Focus on what will serve you right now. Then, plan to stretch your nice-to-have purchases out over the course of time. Think luxury items, like bookshelves and cute decor.

You can save on your office desk, storage, and lighting with low-cost shapes and materials. It’s better to splurge on your office chair and electronics – quality is important here since these items will power your productivity.

  1. Scale Back Your Office Desk
Inhabitr_Scale Back Your Office Desk

Desks with slim, simple designs tend to cost the least. So, sort by classic shapes and clean lines, like you’d find in mid-century and modern styles. Consider rounded edges if your kids play nearby.

Need something out of the way? Get a wall mount desk or ladder desk which can also avoid busting your budget while adding to your current design scheme. If you have the willpower to work from the couch, save space and money with a convenient C-table!

  1. Optimize Your Office Chair
Inhabitr_Optimize Your Office Chair

The best budget home office chair will make your work life easier. A plastic or wooden chair frame will be cheapest, but it’s important that the shape provides lumbar support. Shop for a chair with a high back to accommodate a productive posture and workday, and consider elbow and seat padding as needed.

Figuring out how to get a good deal on home office furniture? You can easily find some comfortable office chairs at a reasonable price. Check out Inhabitr’s Office Chairs! You could consider renting office furniture or buying used pieces as well, to avoid putting a dent in your pockets.

  1. Plants complete the look
Inhabitr_Plants complete the look

Plants and flowers make rooms feel more interesting, more comfortable, and some even help keep the air clean. Opt for indoor plants that don’t need much light. While they might not provide fancy flowers, these low-light plants come with a variety of green and variegated leaves, so you can still create an interesting and natural look.

If you love flowers but can’t stand the price, you’ll be amazed at the huge impact made by a single bloom in a bud vase on your desk. And if you really don’t trust your ability to keep plants alive, you could very well get convenient artificial plants to get that burst of color anyways.

These home office furniture ideas are not only budget-friendly but easy to follow too. Check out Inhabitr’s home office furniture rental collection for a one-stop solution! Our furniture sets are designer-curated and come with hassle-free white glove delivery and assembly. Renting furniture from Inhabitr could help you set your dream space up without putting too much of a dent in your budget.

Inhabitr_How to mix and match decor styles

How to Mix and Match Furniture Styles Like a Pro

No matter how big or small the space in your home is, styling it with appropriate furniture can be a tedious and tricky task. The way your home appears leaves an impact on you as well as others around you.

With so many themes & styles to choose from, the number of options can be scary & overwhelming with scope for perplexity. Add personal preferences into the mix, and you’ll realize how figuring out how to mix and match sofas and chairs among other furniture pieces can be a seriously tiring task.

But, thankfully, the good news is that the concept of mixing and matching furniture is becoming a style of its own. You amalgamate various pieces of different styles and time periods, and you’ll be able to create an overall look that’s refreshingly unique. Let us help you decode the art to mix and match furniture styles well.

  1. Always have a plan
Inhabitr_Have a plan

The task of mix & match can be confusing, annoying & tiring. To avoid this hassle, start with drawing some inspiration for your space. Refer to interior design books, magazines, go through some blogs, google, etc. The importance of planning is that you will be sorted without getting swayed by all the furniture pieces.

You could also check out Inhabitr’s designer-curated rental furniture sets for inspiration! Looking at options could help you figure out what you really like.

Once you shortlist what suits you, the task is halfway through.  It’s important to have an understanding of the main types of furniture styles. Once you have an understanding of each style, you’ll be better equipped to combine them together.

  1. Play with colors
Inhabitr_Play with colors

Some people fear overdoing color, but taking a risk can at times prove to be a bliss. Imagine pasting a deep color sofa along with neutral color accent chairs & some simple patterned rugs and decor pieces, it would look wonderful! To mix & match furniture in a living room seems to be a daunting task, but really isn’t. Just dare to take a risk & voila!

  1. Make use of texture
Inhabitr_Make use of texture

Colors & accents are all things to consider when decorating a room for sure. However, an important element often overlooked is texture. Mixing different textures can help in creating the overall theme of the space, and more importantly, adds a tactile element to your decor. A mixture of different textures, colors, etc can make any place look aesthetically pleasing.

Often figuring out how to mix and match leather furniture is a challenge, but mixing leather and fabric textures across your layout is a perfect way to inject warmth and character into your living room.

With plenty of versatile options, you can choose between coordinated or contrasting colours and textures to create a look that suits your taste and lifestyle.

  1. Decor helps!
Inhabitr_Decor Helps!

The smallest details complete a particular look in a room, that’s when decor comes into play.  Home decor is often the one thing that can suddenly transform a room by creating a satisfying visual appeal.

Consider using items like vases, lamps, artworks & frames to add some personality and subtlety within each area of your home. Placement is key here. Rugs, pillows, curtains, accents and shades are also great additions to put some finishing touches in a room.

Keep experimenting with different styles and schemes, and you’ll eventually discover something that satisfies you and reflects your personal style. After all, a mix-and-match scheme is your chance to express your individual taste.

  1. Make Sure Your Furniture Is Balanced
Inhabitr_Make sure your furniture is balanced

Balance is huge when it comes to mixing furniture styles. If most of your pieces are of a contemporary style, you could use a piece that’s of traditional furniture. By doing this it looks not only cohesive but blends beautifully too. Avoid dividing up a room so that it looks as if one side is one style and the other side is another style.

If you’re experimenting with your style, you could consider renting furniture, too. This way, you set up your home space without making a huge commitment – you retain the option to swap pieces to fit your style, or get a new look when your lease ends!

Inhabitr Furniture Rental is a great choice for furniture, whether you want to rent, buy, or rent-to-own. We have designer-curated matching furniture on subscription sets that look beautiful. We also have a wide range of individual furniture and decor pieces, so that you can get the right look! This, combined with our hassle-free delivery, assembly, and pickup, makes us a great choice.

Inhabitr_How to Organize a Move_ Tips and Tricks from Inhabitr

How to Organize a Move: Tips and Tricks from Inhabitr

While the thought of finally moving into your new home may be exciting, especially after weeks of hassle and unending formalities, just thinking about preparing for a big move can make any calm individual nervous and anxious. We’re here to help you with some effective yet simple house moving tips and tricks to help you organize your move smoothly.

Moving a house can be difficult, there are endless things to look after. Figuring out how to organize a move across town and juggling a variety of moving tasks isn’t easy. However, with the right method & way, it can be done.

  1. Begin the preps early
Inhabitr_Begin the preps early

This is important even when your move is to another town. Do not wait for the last few days to pack your bag, begin early so that you can wrap up sooner. As soon as you get the keys, start moving items over a little bit at a time. Begin with small things like books, art, and seasonal items that are already packed up.

A move across town means you cannot get away without renting a big moving truck. See if you can borrow a truck or for moving day beforehand to avoid last-minute errands.

  1. Declutter
Inhabitr_Declutter

Moving can be emotional for somebody who has lived in a house for many years or has some memories etched to the home. Whatever the scenario is, avoid taking everything to your new house.

For an organized moving and cleaning process, begin room-wise and ask yourself while picking up items: Do I need it? Do I love it? Can I do without it? This technique will help you get rid of stuff that you can do without. You’ve probably accumulated a lot of things that you no longer use or need. Dispose of it to avoid a pile on. Also, while you declutter, clean all your rooms well to make the apartment prim & presentable.

  1. Pack room wise
Inhabitr_Pack room wise

To avoid any kind of hassle, packing things room-wise is a great way to help ease the move stress. It will keep things managed and make unpacking easier. Packing by room is the easiest way to keep your items organized throughout your moving process. Always remember to name the boxes properly to avoid confusion.

  1. Label your belongings

Labels can be your best friend, literally! Labeling creates a system that will help you keep track of all your stuff for you to be able to locate things easily.

Label the contents of each box along with a box number, and keep a checklist for easy reference. You can even color-code them for better reference. Also, create a comprehensive moving checklist for your move. Having this list of to-dos will make it possible to manage the moving parts of your move, and do so in an organized and timely manner.

  1. Donate items you may not need
Inhabitr_Donate items you may not need

Make a list of all furniture, household belongings, clothing, etc that you wish to donate before or after the move. Once the list is complete, decide where you want to donate these items. The Salvation Army is a great option to donate stuff at. Make sure you keep the receipts properly to avoid losing them.

We hope these moving tips and hacks help you out! We understand the hassle a move comes with. Furniture is one such commodity that requires proper planning to move. Furniture Rental Companies like Inhabitr have an array of online furniture rental options to choose from.

Inhabitr_How to Decorate a Small Dining Room, for “Comfor-table” Meals

How to Decorate a Small Dining Room, for “Comfor-table” Meals

For many of us, the dining table is a destination for us to catch up, laugh, eat and rejoice in good company. Whether it’s a whole room, a kitchen-diner, or perhaps just a small table in the corner, dining areas come in all shapes and sizes.

With some simple tips and tricks, any space can become the perfect hub for entertaining – all, of course, without spending too much cash. This is a list of cute small dining room ideas on a budget, to help you create the perfect space for dinnertime conversations or brunch meet-ups.

Follow these tips to create a small dining room space that works for every occasion!

  1. Light it up
Inhabitr_Light it up

Lighting can completely transform the ambiance of a dining room, so enliven your space with a statement piece. Whether it’s an oversized pendant light, colorful table lamps dotted throughout the room, fairy lights adorning a wall, or a giant Anglepoise-style floor lamp positioned over the table, there are plenty of lighting options to make your dining room shine.

Although lighting may seem expensive, think less about investing in something overpriced and instead look at cheaper but still impactful options.

  1. Roll out a rug
Inhabitr_Roll Out a Rug

Use a statement rug to energize your dining room. We recommend choosing one that works effectively, taking note of your flooring and contrasting the rug accordingly. Rugs are the easiest way to style a dining room.

Most homes today have an open layout and rugs are the best way to demarcate the dining space from the adjoining kitchen or living area. People love wood finishes and most dining rooms have wooden furniture. That leaves us with plenty of rug colors, prints, and patterns that can be paired with a versatile color like brown.

  1. Pick out an accent colour
Inhabitr_Pick out an accent colour

A great way to ramp up the style in your dining room is to choose a strong accent color and run with it across the whole room. Whether it’s the table itself, the chairs, or a rug, picking one color is an effective way to create a cohesive scheme.

Try keeping old glass jars and swirling them with the paint color of choice for quick and easy tealight holders or vases, or buying cheap placemats and customizing them with scraps of paper and magazine cut-outs in the same color.

  1. Think Big
Inhabitr_Think Big

Just because you’re working with a small dining space, doesn’t mean this nook doesn’t deserve the attention you’d give the larger rooms in your home. Stylish touches like bold paint color, gallery wall setup, a centerpiece, and hanging greenery will make your small dining room decor look and feel like a significant space.

  1. Breakfast With a View
Inhabitr_Breakfast With a View

Rather than positioning a setup in the middle of the room, pushing a squared dining table up against a window or wall is the quickest way to save space. Plus, if you have a free window in your apartment, you’ll love the feeling of enjoying your morning coffee, while soaking in the views.

  1. Add a Pinch of Personality with Wall art and Mirrors
Inhabitr_Add a Pinch of Personality with Artwork and Mirrors

Choose artwork that speaks to you. This way you can easily lend a personal touch to your dining room. Along with that, no matter how small (or big) a space is, it can always benefit from a large wall-to-wall mirror setup. The reflection instantly creates the illusion that any room is larger than it really is.

These small dining room decorating ideas are not only pocket-friendly but easy to follow too, leaving you and your guests always looking forward to mealtimes!

If you’re setting up a dining space and you’re looking for rental furniture online, you could rent dining room furniture from Inhabitr! Our designers curate a wide range of high-quality furniture, helping you set up your dream home space affordably.

Inhabitr_Famous Movie Furniture

Famous Furniture From The Movie World

When selecting your furniture, you want it to reflect your tastes, working together with the colors in the room to reflect your taste and create an ambience that feels comfortable or can be used to make a real statement.

The inspiration for your choice can come from many places, be it an era or a movie; there are so many pieces of furniture that tell a story. The perfect example of that is the backdrop in the agent’s base in the Men in Black series of movies; not only does it evoke thoughts of the swinging sixties, by combining the setting of the film and the décor, the furniture feels futuristic too. A lot of this is thanks to the humble chair, the egg-shaped seats in the movie help set the scene, and with many of the posters and publicity around the movie featuring them, it could be suggested they’re integral to the film.

That is just one example of how our preferred places to relax have helped to paint a picture, there are many more statement pieces from across the world of the movies. Some of this famous movie furniture you can grab for your own homes and some, well, some might be a little more challenging to replicate. We’ve picked out some of our favorites.

  1. The Matrix – Red Leather Wingback

The movie, which sees the fourth edition released this month, features the chair as an iconic part of its set in a crucial part of the film. As Neo is learning about his role in the Matrix, he sits with Morpheus to discuss what exactly is the world that he’s found himself transported into; his mentor sits in a timeless piece of furniture.

With the white backdrop and the chair in isolation, it really makes a statement and is crucial to the storytelling in the movie.

  1. Game of Thrones – Iron Throne

This chair is a symbol of power in the book A Song of Ice and Fire, which translated perfectly into the TV series adaptation, better known as Game of Thrones. It’s become a piece of furniture that is as famous as the characters in the show, a show which became a Guinness World Record breaker according to Deadline

It’s so recognizable that it was chosen as essential imagery for some online games, mainly as it was instantly recognizable as the famous fictional throne of the Game of Thrones title. You can find the Iron Throne’s image on an online slot from Cheeky Bingo; called Game of Thrones Powerstacks, the TV show’s logo is paired with the iconic throne to conjure up images from the show immediately. It also appears in the Telltale Games series on PlayStation and Xbox.

However, while it’s not something you can buy if you want to, as it’s entirely fictional, it’s a piece of furniture that suits its surroundings and gives off the perfect statement of power. Some have tried to replicate it though; it might be your next statement piece!

  1. Star Wars – Emperor’s Imperial Throne

The throne in the George Lucas epic is another example of a pronouncement of strength, allied by its positioning at the head of the Death Star and against the backdrop of the vast galaxy it truly is a frightening seat.

Although in isolation, it looks like something you’d probably find a modern-day gamer perched in, and they might even be exploring the throne room on Star Wars Battlefront, where the seat makes an appearance. It has a futuristic and technological aesthetic that fits the bill of gaming perfectly, but you might not want it in your lounge!

  1. Austin Powers – Lips Sofa

If you were to think of Austin Powers, not only do you conjure up images of the 60s, with the garish clothing of the protagonist in the comedic spy and the backdrop. Powers is famous for his love of, well, love. So, the inclusion of the lips sofa is perfect. It looks retro, its vivid red color is one of the most striking we’ve ever seen when it comes to furniture, and it gives a seductive look to the room, oh do behave!!

If you’re already set with a sofa then, why not look at buying the perfect coffee table to complement it by taking a look at our guide to choosing the perfect partner for your chair with us, here at Inhabitr!

Inhabitr_How to get rid of unwanted furniture when moving

How to Get Rid of Unwanted Furniture When Moving

Moving to a new place is seen as a stressful activity by many. After all, moving requires a lot of hard work & patience. Even under the best of circumstances, the act of moving can take a toll on anyone. From moving furniture to finding perfect accessories for your new space, the process is unending & tiresome.

When moving, there can be items that you may not need any longer. Furniture, for instance, is one such commodity that may not be of use according to your new apartment design.

A common question asked is what to do with old furniture when moving. Old furniture can be a hassle.

To help you out, we have a compiled list of options for old furniture removal here.

  1. Give the furniture to your contacts

If you cannot decide what to do with unwanted furniture, you might as well ask your family/friends or neighbors if they’d be interested in taking the furniture. It may or not give you money, but it will surely make your move and old furniture disposal hassle-free.

Start by taking snaps & circulating them across your contacts, somebody might end up helping you by accepting the old furniture.

  1. Sell it online

Selling furniture online is a great option. If you have some days at hand, make sure you take clear snaps of the furniture you wish to sell & list it to different online portals like Facebook, Craigslist, etc.

Be sure to write a proper description of the furniture & its condition. Also, make sure to price the product fairly for it to be sold quickly.

  1. Donate your furniture to a trust

Donating your furniture is one of the best solutions to ensure your furniture is put to the best use. If none of your contacts need the furniture, you might as well contact some thrift stores or organizations like the Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc. These institutions accept furniture in a decent state & sell it to the community at cheap rates.

Always do your research. Make sure to contact these organizations beforehand and get knowledge about their rules and regulations. Each institution has different norms for the admission of furniture.

  1. Dispose furniture,the right way!

Thankfully there are plenty of companies that will be more than happy to pick your unwanted furniture & dispose of it the right way. When you cannot sell your furniture, and nobody is willing to pick them up for free, the next option available to you is to attempt to dispose of it.

The policies of various waste management companies differ from one location to another. In some places, they collect almost anything except electrical appliances. Use the internet to find companies that will help you with the furniture. Each company has a different policy for different kinds of furniture pieces, make sure to visit their website or give them a call.

If you have only a few smaller items, getting rid of furniture may be as easy as dragging it out to your curb. But you should always touch base with your local service provider before doing so.

  1. Make smart choices about your furniture

Figuring out how to get rid of old furniture can be a hassle. You have decided to get rid of the furniture, it’s time to think about how you’ll furnish your new place.

Before you jump into purchasing furniture: ask yourself – How long will I live in my next home? The answer to that question can help you decide if you’ll be at your new home long enough to merit furniture ownership, or simply rent furniture.

Renting furniture is one of the best temporary solutions. It gives you the option to opt for short-term leasing options. Inhabitr is one such online furniture rental brand that offers an endless range of furniture rental options, from bedroom furniture rental sets to decor. Hassle-free experience with flexibility & affordability at your stride.

Inhabitr_Guest Room Interior Design Tips For a Welcoming Home

Guest Room Interior Design Tips For a Welcoming Home

A guest bedroom can make your house feel more home-like for your visitors. Like any part of your home, you want your guest bedroom to be as presentable as possible. You don’t want your guests to feel like they’re sleeping somewhere with no effort put into it.

A guest bedroom is a great addition if you are someone who entertains guests regularly. You want your visitors to feel as relaxed as possible. And an extra bedroom can come in handy when your guests can’t go home right away due to uncalled circumstances.

To help make sure your space checks out all the essential guest room amenities, here are 7 tips from Inhabitr.

  1. Use the right lighting
Inhabitr_Use the right lighting

Good lighting is just as important in a guest bedroom as it is in a master bedroom. Bedrooms are all about creating an atmosphere, and good lighting plays a key role.  A simple pendant light, some recessed or flush mount lights to keep the room bright should suffice.

Avoid harsh lighting or using colorful lights, as they might make your guests uncomfortable. If you are providing a cozy seat beside the bed, equip it with a reading lamp or drop light for added support.

  1. Keep a comfortable bed with lots of pillows and bed covers
Inhabitr_Keep a comfortable bed with lots of pillows and bed covers

Any guest bedroom essentials list is incomplete without a cozy bed – it’s a quintessential part of the setup. Plus points if that bed has a comfy headboard so your guests can sit up and relax in bed. Choosing the right bed is important.

Remember to get a nice mattress while you’re at it. Pick a nice, soft, and comfy mattress that perfectly fits your bed frame. Again, it doesn’t have to be super fancy. Just make sure it is serviceable.

Add an assortment of different pillows and pillowcases to help set up whatever arrangement is most comfortable for them. The same goes for bed covers. A heavy-down comforter will cater to anyone who likes it warm and offering a variety of quilts and blankets will help let your guest get the bed exactly the temperature they like.

  1. Small Mirrors Make a Big Impact
Inhabitr_Small Mirrors Make a Big Impact

We all know about the effects mirrors have in a room: They make the bedroom larger. Despite this, mirrors can be costly. Luckily, smaller mirrors can create a similar effect. A simple mirror can do wonders to the interiors of the guest bedroom, both in aesthetic and function. The mirror decor is something quite useful and your guests will love it! Try it. You will see that it will be much appreciated and the room will be very inviting.

  1. Make a Statement
Inhabitr_Make a Statement

Looking to go that extra mile when setting up your guest room furniture and fixtures? Don’t be afraid to make a statement. Opt for a quirky decorating theme in a simple guest room. In this neutral space, artwork and cushions with a royal theme bring the space to life.

You could rent wall art, lighting, and throw pillows from Inhabitr for a unique aesthetic that will ensure your guests have an unforgettable stay.

  1. Place Towels and Extra Toiletries
Inhabitr_Place Towels and Extra Toiletries

Have a few spare sample-size toiletries in a drawer? Gather them together in a pretty bowl or basket and add a new toothbrush so guests won’t stress if they forgot something. Bath towels might already be in the bathroom, but if it’s a shared bathroom, it’s a good gesture to set out towels separately in the room, to avoid confusion later.

  1. Keep a Dresser or a Closet
Inhabitr_Keep a Dresser or a Closet

Finally, your guests may want a place to put their clothes in. A nice, sturdy dresser will do the trick! A dresser can provide so much use for your guests. They can store their stuff away in an organized fashion. If you have a closet in your guest room, even better!

Be sure to leave at least a few empty hangers for them to use for their clothes depending on how long their stay is. If you’re looking to temporarily rent a smart dresser that will upgrade the interiors of your guest room, you could check out Inhabitr’s dressers, chests, and nightstands.

  1. Remove Unnecessary Items
Inhabitr_Remove Unnecessary Items

If the guest room already has a closet, then you need to remove the bulky wardrobe. The space can be used instead as a seating area by the guest who needs no extra storage. Or you could add some elegant furniture to add to the decor of the room. Just consider trying something minimal that every guest you know would most likely like or find useful.

Say goodbye to people sleeping on your couch or staying in a hotel. With a guest bedroom so nice, your guests will feel like they have just stayed in a 5-star hotel!

You could also consider getting the different types of furniture used in guest rooms for rent. Renting furniture is a great idea if you’re looking for it temporarily, or if you might want to swap pieces later, or if you simply want to spend less at a go. Inhabitr_How-to-Arrange-Furniture-in-an-Awkward-Living-Room

How to Arrange Furniture in an Awkward Living Room

We all know the art of home decor is complex & tiring. How we organize furniture within a room can have an impact on our behavior and how we perceive our space. An awkward living room furniture layout can create one of the common odd spaces in houses. It comes in all shapes and sizes—from slanted walls to tiny spaces.

As we know, the living room is the main hub of the house, a space for leisure time, but when it’s oddly shaped or has quirky features, it can feel impossible to make it work with managing your space and styling it.

If you do not know how to arrange furniture in an awkward living room efficiently, we recommend that you continue reading this list of tips. Much of the secret of awkward living room layout solutions depends on the shape of the furniture and how they adapt to the space.

  1. Use space effectively
Inhabitr_Use space effectively

The selection of furniture should be done wisely, with space usage in mind. If the area of the living room is small, choose furniture pieces that would fit in rather than going in with big pieces. Walking space in any living room is very important to avoid a clumsy feel.

  1. Place the sofa mindfully
Inhabitr_Place the sofa mindfully

When arranging furniture in an awkward living room, the sofa is of great importance. In fact, the sofa in general is an important furniture piece of any living room. If you have a sofa already, place it only where it makes sense. If you’re buying a new sofa, you’ll want to let the size and shape of the room determine the type of sofa you choose.

  1. Opt for multi-purpose furniture
Inhabitr_Opt for multi-purpose furniture

Managing space is quite important. Many awkwardly shaped rooms can prevent you from being able to fit all of the furniture you’d like. That’s where multi-purpose furniture comes in.

When furnishing an awkwardly shaped living room, you’ll want to choose multi-purpose furniture like storage ottomans, benches, and coffee tables. Choosing such furniture will help you with storage as well as take care of the style.

  1. Divide space into focal points
Inhabitr_Divide space into focal points

Deciding how to arrange furniture in a weird room so that everything flows perfectly is of course tiring. Instead of struggling with a bucket full of perplexing ideas, try thinking of your living room in pieces; perhaps you have a TV area, a reading corner, a small workspace, and so on. By dividing the space into sections with their own focal points, you can tackle them one at a time effectively.

  1. Designate zones to organize your space
Inhabitr_Designate zones to organize your space

Along the same lines, one of the famous awkward living room layout ideas involves designating zones throughout your living room. This strategy works well for decorating long, narrow living rooms or other living rooms with awkward shapes. Consider how you use your living room and then try out different ways to split up your space into zones.

Adding distant zones can be of great help. For example, have an area designed for watching television with the family, an area to just sit & enjoy food or drinks, etc. If you’re worried it will look disjointed, there are plenty of ways to use colors and furniture to create visually distinct but complementary spaces in your living room.

  1. Consider using an online planner
Inhabitr_Consider using an online planner

If nothing helps, consider using an online room planner tool. Inhabitr is a new age furniture rental company that ensures a hassle-free experience when it comes to renting furniture.

Inhabitr offers a staging service where you can send in your apartment snaps and can get it virtually staged. See all the furniture you like staged in your space before you finally decide to rent it.

Inhabitr_Inhabitr’s Coffee Table Buying Guide, Espresso-ly For You

Inhabitr’s Coffee Table Buying Guide, Espresso-ly For You

Ever found yourself wishing that you had a coffee table, or an end table, or even a console table for that matter, while you are working or reading? If so, then you know the significance of a coffee table and an end table. These pieces of furniture don’t just beautify your house, but they also provide you with practical extra storage space.

With the huge variety of options available, choosing the right coffee table can be difficult. (Inhabitr has so many gorgeous coffee table options, too!)

We’re here to give you a few pillars to make it easier, so you can feel happy with your purchase. Coffee tables serve several purposes, from completing a look to storage and display – they’re much needed in a space. Here’s a handy guide on how to choose a coffee table, to help you find the multitasker of your dreams!

  1. Plan your Budget
inhabitr_Plan your Budget

The price points for a coffee table can range from ultra-expensive to very budget-friendly, so before you start shopping know what you have to spend on it.

If you’re furnishing a new space, your overall budget should be broken down into accessories, lighting, and furniture. Furniture items include the sofa, side tables, chairs, and coffee table. The larger portion of the budget could be allocated to the bigger pieces.

You could bend a little on your budget if you see something you love, but having rough numbers in place would give you a helpful point of reference.

  1. Keep Functionality in Mind

Another important factor is to know what the primary use of the table will be. Will the coffee table be more decorative, or will it provide storage? How much storage will be enough? Coffee tables with storage can come with shelves, or drawers to hold everything from kids’ toys to that stash of magazines you will someday read.

Regardless if storage is needed, there is still a good chance you will want to be able to place a drink or a plate down without the risk of tipping over. Pick a piece that will hold drinks and snack plates with ease.

If décor is more the purpose, you can focus on one with lines and texture in a material you love.

  1. Get the Right Size and shape
inhabitr_Get the Right Size and shape

A coffee table that is too high, too low, or too broad can have a huge impact on the overall look of a room. It should be proportionate to the size of your room and should also work with all your existing furniture.

When figuring out how to buy the right size coffee table, remember that you want to give your space a balanced look and maintain some symmetry. It is important to choose and buy a coffee table online that matches the height of your sofa or armchair. A large coffee table will be an eye-sore if your sofa and seats are small.

As with size, you will need to determine the perfect shape you need for your ideal coffee table. With a variety of coffee tables available online at Inhabitr, finding the perfect shape for your space has become quite easy. As you take a look at your living or working space, think about what shape would best compliment the room.

For families with children and pets, a round or an oval coffee table would be the best choice. The curved edge of the table will help avoid major injuries in case of an accident. It also provides more space to walk past it.

Rectangular coffee tables, on the other hand, are a popular choice if you have a bigger space. They provide more space and can be used to set down books, magazines, and even souvenirs on them.

  1. Consider Storage Space
inhabitr_Consider Storage Space

If you wish to make the most of your space, choosing a wooden or rustic coffee table with inbuilt storage is a good idea. It can be a simple and solid affair or a sleek table with drawers. You can use these to stash away newspapers, keys, stationery, and other odds and ends.

Storage-friendly coffee tables can keep your living room uncluttered and organized. Organizational features like drawers, bins, and shelves are ideal for storing magazines, pillows, blankets, remotes, and anything else to help keep your living room clutter-free.

  1. Keep Additional Features & Considerations in mind
inhabitr_Keep Additional Features & Considerations in mind

Choose materials for your coffee table that will complement your existing furniture and suit your lifestyle. Glass or marble coffee tables, for example, might go super well with some furniture items.

Every sitting area is used and styled differently, which is why Inhabitr offers a broad selection of coffee tables in a variety of shapes, sizes, finishes, and materials. If you’re furnishing a bigger space, you could also check out our curated living room sets, to set up your space the way you want!

You could also consider renting furniture, since the smaller commitment period helps you experiment with your style better, and since it’s less expensive. (You could get a coffee table for as little as $5 – $10 per month!)

Inhabitr_How to select a home decor style

A 5 Step Guide to Find Your Ideal Home Decor Style

If you read a magazine or open Pinterest, you are bound to feel attracted to a fancy mirror, an aesthetic windowpane, or simply some in-house greenery. This, in turn, inspires you to try out similar interior design for your own space because… why not?

But when you implement the ideas yourself, you realize that it’s clearly not the picture you painted in your head. The common reason is that it does not blend with the decor style you already have at your home or it simply looks Instagram-able in pictures only.

So, we say it’s better to figure out how to pick a home decor style and set your space up accordingly, instead of trying to replicate a single element that caught your eye. Once you have a better idea about how to determine your home decor style, you can be more informed about the pieces you get and the arrangements you make.

So, keep in mind the following points when decorating your space and choosing a decor style!

  1. Gather inspiration and create a mood board
Inhabitr_Gather inspiration and create a mood board

Look at the houses of your friends, relatives, and favorite celebrities and see what style they have. Or simply use the internet to surf through Pinterest, Meta, Instagram, and so on to know what are the latest trends going on. Looking at different home decor styles will give you inspiration about what you want.

Simply compile what you like in a set of mood boards. Have at least 3-4 mood boards to assess and compare the style, colors, tones, and vibe. Whichever compilation fits your fancy, you are good to go with it!

  1. Consider your lifestyle
Inhabitr_Consider your lifestyle

Indeed, home is where the heart is! And so, your interior décor style should be something with which you are comfortable. Following an ongoing trend definitely comes second. Make your home a reflection of who lives in it! After all, it’s you that will spend the majority of your time there!

You can also take inspiration from your closet and see if you have a modern style or you prefer the bougie style of the 90s. Your closet might also give you a glimpse of the color scheme you should adopt.

  1. Complement the vicinity
Inhabitr_Complement the vicinity

While strolling around your area, try to understand if the locality throws a traditional vibe or a modern vibe. Look around and see which house makes your heart go pitter-patter!

Accordingly, match the vibe of your exterior and decide if you wish to go minimalistic or show off some fancy furniture and décor pieces! Looking at the look of the area might definitely help you narrow down one among the many types of home decor styles.

  1. Complement the architecture
Inhabitr_Conmplement the architecture

The skeletal composition of your house can obviously not be changed entirely. So, even though creativity has no limits, we need to abide by our décor as per the structural limits. If you have small rooms, a cozy interior would suit your house whereas if you have a large space, you can experiment around minimalistic décor.

The paint can be decided on similar lines. Avoid darker shades in a small space and experiment more with a large space as you can always balance out the lighting with some lamps and decorative lights.

  1. Make an inventory of existing items and plan a budget
Inhabitr_Make an inventory list and plan a budget

You might have some furniture you want to discard in favor of new pieces when figuring out a home decor style. Make a list of what you wish to keep and what you wish to replace. This will give you an idea of what’s needed, and the available items will serve as the foundation for your aesthetic.

Finally, make sure you fit under your budget! One way to do that would be by renting furniture and decor items from Inhabitr. Decorating your home and setting up its furniture is a fun task but it often gets expensive and the hassle of running around to find the right piece kills the fun mood. Renting furniture is the way to go!

Renting also gives you free rein to experiment with various styles and then stick to the one that suits you best. This would be a costly deal if you purchase furniture instead.

Inhabitr Furniture Rental also offers designer-curated furniture sets, with pieces selected to go well as a unit. You could check out our living room sets,
